MANAGER TECHNICAL (MAR 2013 - CURRENT)
Develop and manage IT Services infrastructure design, policies and procedures. Provide expertise and support during systems upgrades and installations. Oversee systems development, enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems. Work with advocacy staff to develop strategies and to enhance client services, improve user effectiveness, and foster innovation. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide strategic and imperative consultancy for Network design and solutions to multiple SMEs and private sector companies.
Developed and manage the system for Automated Mass-Deployment of Windows OS through hardware-independent images.
Developed and manage the system for Automated Mass-Deployment of Software Packages.
Deploy and manage online/offline and remote data backup solution (Data, Email and Database backup) for clients.
Deploy and manage Private Cloud Service for clients.
Deploy and manage Open Source IP PBX (Asterisk) for inbound call centers and to interconnected SMEs branches.
Leading a team of engineers and senior engineers that manage Network and IT support for clients (remotely and on-site).
Overall Operations and maintenance of Metro Ethernet Core network, Access devices DSLAMs/Mini DSLAMs (MSAG/MSAN), NMSs, Metro Ethernet Switches and Routers, BRAS at South Region and Service provisioning for entire Multimedia broadband services (ADSL, Smart TV) and corporate services provisioning like, B-DSL, E-DSL and B-VPN. Monitor departmental workflow to ensure all issues and events are identified/prioritized in a timely manner and within departmental guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Installation, Configuration and Maintenance of all network elements involved in the Broadband Core Network including Cisco and Juniper Routers and Switches, Huawei BRAS’s MA5200G, Me60. Juniper Switches EX-4200, Core Routers MX-480, MX-960, Juniper E-Series BRAS’s E320, E120, ERX310, Cisco 7200 VXR, Zhone/Huawei/ZTE DSLAM’s and other broadband Equipment.
Ensure connectivity within the Core network having IP/MPLS backbone.
BGP Administration for managing the internet traffic of the whole network on different upstream providers.
VPN Provisioning for service provider services (like IPTV) and Corporate using Layer3 BGP/MPLS, Layer2 MPLS and VPLS Metro Backbone.
Providing level 2 to level 4 support to the customers including Corporate, SME’s, Call Centers, Banks, Educational organizations etc.
Monitor different International upstream in order to ensure the uninterrupted services.
Lead a team of professionals to build and scale the LAN/WAN infrastructure for growth, security, and resilience.
Network monitoring and troubleshooting using Icinga, and MRTG.
Ensure MMBB Core services provided meet or exceed internal and external service level agreements
MAJOR PROJECTS:
Involved in testing of Layer 2 and Layer 3 IPSec/OpenVPN, DMVPN with different corporate and SME’s.
Actively participated in migration process of around 6000+ corporate and home customers from MAXCOM DSLAM’s to PTCL DSLAM’s while keeping whole migration process transparent to end user.
Plays a major role in developing network monitoring tools/system applications using ICINGA/MRTG for monitoring Optical Network Units ONU's, MSAG and MSAN all over Pakistan, for uptime, bandwidth analysis, trouble ticketing, reporting, surveillance etc that impact overall support of MMBB Core operations in notrh/south and Central region.
ASSISTANT MANAGER NETWORK OPERATIONS (MAR 2006 - MAR 2011)
Network Architecture Design, installation and Implementation. Large-Scale System Integration and maintenance of complex layer 2 (ATM) and layer 3 (IP) network devices in a multi-vendor/heterogeneous environment. Provide technical guidance and support to any complex technical problems. Lead a team of engineers for Customer Support, Customer Installation and Churn management functions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Configuration, deployment and administration of network devices like Lucent Stinger FS/FS+ (DSLAM), ZHONE Technologies MALC 19, 319 DSLAM, Lucent PSAX 1250 Multiservice Media, Broadband RAS (Redback SMS 500, 1800), Cisco Routers 7200 series (Edge/Core) / 3600 series / ISR 1800 series/ Cisco 2900, 3500 series switches, Image Stream Gateway and Rebel Routers, ETNIC Bandwidth Manager.
Configure and manage routing using OSPF Protocol for internal routing and BGP (Multihoming) for external routes. VLAN implementation and inter-VLAN routing, Ethernet, Frame Relay, ATM, ISDN, RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, MPLS.
Configure and Manage switching using Spanning Tree Protocol and its variants (RSTP and MST), Gateway Redundancy Technologies (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP).
Customers ATM circuits configuration (PVC and cross connect between PVCs) and management on ATM based DSLAM’s (Zhone MALC / Alcatel Stingers), ATM Switching (VP & VC Switching), ATM QoS Contracts and Traffic shaping (UBR, CBR, rtVBR, nrtVBR).
Configuration of All Asymmetric and Symmetric DSL variants specially ADSL, G.SHDSL, RFC 1483 Bridging and Routing, PPPOE, PPPOA, Multilink PPP.
Design and Implement various VPN Technologies - IPSec and its variants using Symmetric and Asymmetric Encryption Algorithms and PKI, DMVPN using IPSec VPNs by combining GRE tunnels, IPSec encryption, and Next Hop Resolution Protocol (NHRP), OpenVPN Layer2 (Bridged VPN) and Layer3 Routed VPN using OpenSSL.
Installation, Configuration and Maintenance of Linux based servers including DNS (BIND), Mail (Qmail), FTP (PROFTPD), MRTG, Cacti, Smoke Ping, Samba, Squid, Syslog etc.
MIM-SOFT SOLUTIONS NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (MAR 2001 - APR 2004)
