1. Credit Research and Debt Capital Segmentation: Conducting a detail research through various financial resources to determine the Capital Structure of an organization, including Loans deal reporting, DCM (bonds and Notes) deal reporting, ECM (convertibles) deal reporting etc. and assessment of various deals affecting a change in Capital Structure. Allocation of debt instruments through rating agencies for reconciliation of financial data available through internal sources. Working on priority companies where the ‘Likely-to-Default’ scores are very high, and reporting on the legal proceedings such as M&A takeovers, Restructuring or Bankruptcy filings. Collaborating with Global Senior Analysts regarding the coverage and macro-economic factors that may impact the upcoming financial structure rebuild of the company.
2. Debt-burden Profiling: Determining and building an organizational structure of the company to identify the HoldingCo, OperatingCo, and other Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV’s). This identifies the legal structure and the ultimate parent/group company.
3. Deals Research: Reconciling or building a capital structure of the company from scratch by adding loan instruments and bonds instruments along with their various characteristics through various financial reports, press releases, offering memorandum, new issuance listings, unique identifiers, credit rating agencies reports and our own in-house Debtwire reports. It is required to update the deals for the latest quarter to match the total debt of the company.
4. Reporting of M&A’s and Financial Restructuring: Researching through legal dockets and bankruptcy documents to identify the current status of an instruments and update the debt of the company after considering the DIP and Bridge financing deals for the settlements. Also flagging the company for any LBO’s, MBO’s or any near future mergers.
5. Risk Analysis: Monitoring liquidity of the company and predicting the NTM finance cost or any NTM refinancing activities that can affect the future liquidity of the company QoQ basis. Providing a score based on the debt and liquidity analysis of the company, which is considered in calculating a proprietary ‘Likely to Default’ score for the given organization.
6. Coverage: North America, UK and EURO, Latin America, EMEA and APAC region organizations with a debt capital ranging from $50 million to $25 billion.
7. Automation: Collaborating with our data engineers team in Budapest to identify the automation prospects in regards to sourcing of the information to increase the accuracy and efficiency of our process.
8. Cross-border teams: Exchanging resources and information for data accuracy while performing credit research for a company and also conducting sessions with Senior Editorial Managers, Senior Legal Reporters and Regional M&A’s reporters to get more insights on macro as well as micro factors impacting the capital structure of the company.
