Position: Finance Director Middle East North Africa


Responsibilities:
•Reporting to the CEO MENA and the CFO EMEA, my role is to direct all support, administration services, and operations including Finance, HR, Legal and IT for 14 operating entities.
•Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions.
•Acting as a consultant to the General Managers of the OPCO in managing their business and setting the overall business strategy.
•Being a member of the executive committee, I ensure, with the management team, that the budgeted results are delivered.
•Supervise the monthly closing and consolidation of financials, and provide analysis on performance to higher management.
•Managing a team of 25 direct reports, I am in charge of preparing yearly budget & reforecast on quarterly basis for 14 reporting entities.
•Supervise the financial performance of affiliates.

Achievements:
•Managed three successful acquisitions from start to finish
•Streamlined the reporting process by implementing automation upload which cut the reporting time from 4 to 2 days.
•Business set up, financial and operational planning: Set up the Qatar and Kuwait operation.
•Implemented financial reporting and internal control procedure for the operating companies.
•Played an instrumental role in the management and negotiation of Annual Volume Rebate with suppliers.
•Managed to decrease receivables days from 85 to 75 days.

Responsibility:
•Reporting to the Managing Director and the world wide CFO, my role is to direct all support and administration services at the Dubai and Mumbai offices, and operation including Finance, HR, and Procurement.
•Acting as a consultant to the managing director in managing the business and the overall business strategy, and as a member of the executive committee, my role also includes ensuring with the management team that the budgeted results are delivered.
•Perform on a monthly basis a detailed review of projects performance and discuss corrective actions with client directors.
•Managing a team of 45+ with 7 direct reports I was in charge of preparing yearly budget & reforecast on quarterly basis for two reporting units (Dubai & Mumbai)
Achievements:
•Managed the conversion of Landor financial system from Neyosis to Oracle financials, and monitored the data migration and reconciliation.
•Business set up, financial and operational planning. Set up the India operation. Implemented financial reporting and internal control procedure for the branch, and assisted the Managing director and the country head in all commercial aspects of the business.
•Transitioned Dubai office from a London representative office to a fully fledged operation and reporting unit.
•Played an instrumental role in the management and negotiation of all client contracts
•Supported Client Service team in new business and contract negotiations, and reviewed all projects pricing and ongoing project profitability and realization.
•Managed to improve overall gross profit percentage by 3% over a period of 2 years
•Achieved major efficiency gains through the implementation of tight procurement policies and contract negotiations. Managed to decrease expenditure by 35% from 2011 for 2012, and achieve expenditure saving in 2012 by 6% compared to budget.
•Managed to decrease receivables days from 180 to 90 days.

Responsibility:
•Using SAP prepared monthly financial statements and financial reporting and ensure that such statements and reports comply with the Company’s policies/ procedures, and IFRS.
•Present monthly financial results and profitability to management team.
•In charge of reviewing on a monthly basis; the percentage of completion of project phases to ensure the revenue recognition is as per the forecast.
•As a member of the executive committee I participated in preparing the Strategy Plan, and ensuring that the company’s performance is in line with worldwide strategy and; when needed; corrective actions are taken.
•Ensured that procedures are in place for SOX compliance
•Prepared documentation for US and UK Tax declaration
•Handled and supervise the HR Department (recruitment, contracts, vacation, etc..)

•Supported Client Service team in new business and contract negotiations, and reviewed all projects pricing and ongoing project profitability and realization.
•Managed to improve overall gross profit percentage by 3% over a period of 2 years
•Implemented all SOX policies and procedures and ensure ongoing SOX compliance of Dubai and Mumbai offices.
•Prepared US and UK statutory Tax declaration.
•Detailed knowledge in Financial reporting packages including Hyperion and SAP BFC CARTESIS

Responsibility:
•Performed internal audit assignments covering various departments, like The Palm Jumeirah, The Gardens, Jumeirah Island, and corporate finance.
•Checked all policies and procedures are being followed and set.
•I was also in charge of testing transactions and procedures to minimize errors and fraudulent activities, and verifying the integrity of the accounting information.
Achievements:
•Designed the audit program, audited the fixed assets for PCFC, and recommended corrective actions for asset capitalization and recording.

•In my role I was in charge of the Finance department of three operating units (Dubai, KSA, Cape Town) overseeing 3 direct reports
•My role included preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly MIS, and financial reports to the board of Directors.
