- Oversee testing, installation, and repair of all marine apparatus and equipment.
- Evaluate operation of equipment, auxiliaries and main engines during acceptance testing.
- Investigate and observe tests on machinery and equipment for compliance with standards.
-Determine tests are to be conducted, as well as sequences and phases of test operations.
-Maintain and coordinate repair of machinery and equipment for installation on vessels.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to draw up work requests and job specifications.
- Review and compare work requests for compliance and costs.
-Prepare and review technical reports for Management, Operations, or relevant departments,
including for Customers and Contractors.
- Liaise with Contractors and Customers to ensure compliance and completion of work.
-Coordinate activities with relevant Classification Societies to ensure repairs and alterations are
compliant and consistent with standards and also safety.
- Assist with procurement of materials needed for equipment and machinery.
- Check, test, and maintain automatic controls and alarm systems.
-Liaise between Captains, Chief Engineers and shore personnel to ensure that schedules and
budgets are maintained, and that operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
-Maintain records of engineering department activities, including expense records and details of
equipment maintenance and repairs.
-Prepare plans, estimates, schedules, and contract specifications, including any special
provisions, as required.
-Schedule machine overhauls and the servicing of electrical, heating, ventilation, refrigeration,
water, and sewage systems.
- Supervise other engineers and personnel, and train them for routine and emergency duties.
-Implement programs related to achievement of QHSE policies and company objectives / KPI´s.
- Be aware of HSE hazards and risks associated with operations process and implement control
measures associated with the same.
- Awareness of emergency situations associated with operations process, related emergency
plans and take part in emergency drills.
