Assessing and processing all contractual claims and variation orders for various projects and reviewing engineering contracts for new and existing projects.

Advising the director and various engineering departments on the proposed cost for new works and all contractual matters and claims for all types of contracts which includes consultancy agreements, Design& Construct, Boot, FIDIC and others. Also advising project managers of any risks that will affect the overall timely delivery of the project or significant cost escalation or potential opportunities for cost reduction. Provide proactive advice so as to minimize claim and delay.
Preparing cost estimates for projects, monthly reports for all assessed variation orders and all signed engineering contracts.

Liaison with various departments, ministries and contractors regarding variation orders and new contracts in order to ensure their compliance with the Contractual laws and the allowed budget for various projects. Prepare variations and day works and negotiate ‘rates’ with contractors where necessary.
Resolve and analyze most of the contractual claims which included review, negotiate and prepare claim settlements with the client then close the contracts accounts. Advise on contractual issue as they arise and provide appropriate contractual solutions. Establish a claims register to ensure that proper claim records are properly being maintained.
Preparing monthly & quarterly reports on the progress of all current projects and their budget status. Also audit payments to Contractors and ensure prompt submittal and completeness of valuations.
Dealing with all project management for various contracts which included liaising with clients in all financial and contractual matters during contract execution in order to ensure the efficient and smooth running of these projects.

Design & Model all the underground services and its associated structures for an onshore LNG plant in Oman. The plant is designed to produce a nominal 6.6 million tones a year of UNG from two LNG trains, the highest production in the world, The cost of the project is around £1.6 billion and it will be operational early in the year 2000. The design of underground services required the co-ordination and liaison with various disciplines in order to avoid clashes. For this end, using Microstation, PDS and Model draft computer software packages created 3D models.

Design all the underground services and its associated structures for power generation project (CHP) in North Wales. Also, prepare all earthwork designs, grading drawings, soil analysis designs, site fencing and access road designs.

The underground services included the drainage of various process flows and the runoffs of firewater mains and the storm water. It also included the design of the route for a 12-inch gas supply main for the site which crosses railway tracks and two rivers.

The underground structures included an oil interceptor and a cesspool. In addition to designing the drainage layout and preparing the design calculations. The work included also writing the specifications for the underground services (drainage and firemain) and the under¬ground structures (cesspool and oil interceptor).

This post involved various challenging tasks which included Contract management and administration for various contracts which included liaison with the client on various levels, preparing financial statements with future predictions of costs, profitability, and future staffing requirements. Dealing with clients and customers queries and monitoring the performance and efficiency of our activities in order to meet our customer care and quality assurance targets.

Preparing feasibility studies, designing and supervising the construction of nine surface and foul water schemes with total cost of £ 9.8 million. The design involved site investigation, leveling, setting out, CCTV Survey, detailed drawings, bills of quantities. While the construction of the projects involved supervising contractors on site and approving their work. The method of construction for the above schemes were mainly micro-tunneling for deep sewer lines and conventional for shallow sewer lines.

Designing and supervising the construction of two pumping stations in the Borough with total cost of £ 4.8 Million. The design started with feasibility studies which commenced with analysis of the flow in the catchments area using Wal1russ and Wassp programmes and assessing the amount of rainfall infiltrating to the sewer network. The design also included preparing soil analysis reports, earthwork design, grading and site fencing drawings. Also finding out the size of sump required and estimating the total cost for different proposals. Finally, drawing plans and sections using AutoCAD. Then supervising their construction which involved micro-tunneling and other non-dig methods.

Preparing feasibility study, designing and supervising the construction of Cray Valley Trunk sewer with a 1500 MM dia and 15 KM length to run parallel to two existing trunk sewers in the foots Cray Meadows and to be connected to them at various points. The 3rd sewer was intended to increase the sewers capacity and consequently stop the considerable flooding in the Bromley area. The study aimed at investigating different routes with their environmental impacts and to recommend the most environmentally friendly route. Also preparing a cost estimate and producing drawings using AutoCAD. The total cost of the project was £ 5.6 Million. Then supervising their construction which were mainly by micro-tunneling and other non dig methods.

Preparing a feasibility study for existing drainage system in large area of the borough for future developments with recommendations and costs for various options. Also, preparing a feasibility study for a two KM length of a new link road (Spine Road) between Thamesmead and Erith. The feasibility study also included the preliminary design for a small pumping station near River Thames.

Duties included: designing the pipeline route and designing of road panels for maintenance. Designing of pipe support sleepers in steelworks for a gas main. Finally, design of buildings to resist gas explosions in RC in compliance with Shell UK Ltd and BP Ltd standards.
