• Responsible for full-service interior design, including:
• Obtaining briefs and site surveying.
• Producing sample boards, conceptual sketches and developed designs for retail stores.
• Developing all relevant plans including layouts, ceiling, building, detail, electrical and plumbing plans.
• Communicating directly with clients, councils, landlords and contractors in order to see the final installation completed.
Key Achievements
Given the responsibility to create the new concept and look for The Sweetest Little Chocolate Shop’s pilot store . The brief was to think outside the box and come up with something entirely new and exciting. The client wanted “people to stand outside and take photographs of the shop”. The result was a vibrant and very eye catching shop that won it’s category in the RED awards, was shortlisted in the Dulux colour awards and is currently being considered for the Best awards in New Zealand.
Entrusted to manage a significant project for Indesign, which was to make modifications to a 1300m2 foot print, 3 story high, commercial and retail building. Following the entire project through from initial concept, to producing all 42 pages of architectural drawings then taking the project through building and resource consent and overseeing the entire construction period. This gave me the opportunity to work closely with engineers to work on modifying the shop fronts/profile of the building, installing a new lift and stairwell and resetting out the tenancies, upgrading all services and much more.
