- Shares current information and understanding of “safety” issues.
- Evaluates the scaffolding.
- Review/improve the plant safety procedures or work instructions.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments as instructed by the SHE Manager.
- Motivate staff and contractors to adopt good health & safety practices.
- Provide leadership in occupational health & safety and encourage staff to become safety conscious
- Assists in the development of HCC’s occupational health and safety policy, programs, and procedures.
- Implements and monitors HCC’s occupational health and safety policy, programs, and procedures
- Assists HCC in complying with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of staff and visitors.
- Increases health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
- Investigates and reports on all serious/critical personal injury accidents occurring to trammel, staff and/or visitors to the appropriate senior official, and assists in the investigation of all accidents/incidents that result in substantial damage to vehicles or property.
- Investigates and reports on complaints of hazardous working conditions to the SHE manager and/or other appropriate senior staff.
- Responds to employee safety concerns.
- Conducts as necessary, safety inspections of any of the HCC’s facility.
- Implements environmental plans in conjunction with the SHE manager.
- Manages environmental compliance, provides guidance and actions and minimizes the environmental impact in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and HCC policies.
- Manages the implementation and maintenance of the environmental system of certifications (ISO 14001, etc.).
- Assesses the environmental impact of plant operations, developing and proposing an improvement program and action plan to continuously improve.
- Manages environmental permit compliance, modification and renewal.
- Prepares and submits reports to regulatory agencies in a timely manner.
- Manages relationships with regulators and local community.
- Submits environmental reports to internal stakeholders.
- Ensures plant equipment and instrumentation are operating in accordance with regulations.
- Communicates with and trains plant employees on regulatory requirements and plant-specific procedures for environmental compliance.
- Attends association and community meetings to review and provide feedback regarding plant operations.
