 “Logistics Leader” for the Logistic Chain of importing Sodium Sulphate cargo bagged in big bags from Aliaga, Turkey to the client in Egypt at their premises (DDU) (Feb, 2012 till June, 2013).

 “Logistics Leader” for the Logistic Chain of importing 4000 steel pipes (2.235 M X 12 M) from Iskenderun, Turkey to the client in Egypt at their premises (EX-WORK) through 4 voyages per month (August, 2010 - Jan 2012).

* Job major responsibilities are as follows :

- Coordinate and follow-up on the Supply Chain for import operations between shippers/suppliers, receivers and ship-owners to ensure efficient handling of pipes cargo through multimodal transportation, customs and other concerned parties.
- Control / supervise cargo document cycle from source through different stages at customs, port and storage yard if used.
- Assign stevedoring Co. and supervise discharging operations from the vessel onto trucks.
- Represent the client in all customs formalities pertained to this project whereby manage direct delivery of cargo outside port / customs area or storage of cargo inside customs area pending availability of commercial documents prior vessel’s arrival by 24 hours at least.
- Arranging with contractors for appropriate number of trucks to receive pipes from vessel and deliver to the client site by working on reduce waste time in supply chain.
- Supervising the gate out of trucks from the port besides inland trucking from port to the client site.
- Handling the vessel normal operations at the port (berthing application, assign a berth accommodate vessel’s operations through port meeting, running daily update to all concerned parties, preparing for all relevant documents like cargo manifest, stevedoring appointment letters directed to port authorities, documents required by customs “degree no. 46”, Statement Of Fact, cargo delivery orders and shipping agent invoices).
- Managing and reviewing the reports / correspondences directed to the client by my colleagues share me this job step by step about vessel’s / cargo’s developments from loading port until complete operations in Alexandria port beside cargo collection / delivery report on a daily basis.
- Liaise with client receiving their feedbacks and weak points for analyzing and sort it out.

*Job major responsibilities are as follows :

Vessels’ and Cargo operations:

- Knowledge of most Egyptian ports tariffs to calculate proforma and final ports disbursement account to ship-owners.
- Negotiate ship-owners about agency services fees through the e-mail and calls.
- Prepare all documents required by Port, Customs, Ministry of Transportation (Maritime Sector), Charterers, Suppliers, Shippers and Cargo Owners like Bs/L, Cargo Manifest, Shipping Orders, Delivery Orders, Statements of Accounts and Statement of Facts.
- Represent the interests of shippers, receivers and logistics affairs are concerned.
- Coordinate and follow-up on the Supply Chain for import/export operations between shippers/suppliers, receivers and shipping lines or ship-owners to ensure efficient handling of cargo / shipments through multimodal transportation, customs and other concerned parties.
- Supervise load / discharge operations to ensure efficient turnaround.
- Running operations / communications with charterers, suppliers of goods, ship-owners, port authorities and all relevant entities involved in shipping industry and cargo trade.
- Scope of operations (Grains Bulk Carrier/General Cargo vessels/Tankers/RORO vessels).

Dealing with subcontractors for outsourcing the services out of our scope:

- Receive principles requests through e-mails and render / negotiate quotations for the services needed.
- Keep a good numbers of reliable subcontractors list and get their offers for works required.
- Issuing purchase orders to subcontractors.
- Following delivery of repairs, works, services or products ordered.
- Receive principles comments / feedback to rectify deficiencies if any.
- Dealing with traveling agents for arranging flights, airport pickup, transportation and hotels reservations between cities for the purpose of crew change always requested by ship-owners.
- Responsibilities of crew until either join the vessel in one of Egyptian ports or fly to his / her home country.
- Some of principles matters required are Crew change, Spare Parts, Bunker supply, Fresh water supply, tanks prewash operations, Slop / Bilge / Sludge disposal, provisions, …….. etc).

Customers Service:

- Receive and meet clients or their representatives, help them with advices, documents allowing release or shipping cargos.
- Issuance of invoices for the services performed.
- Following pending invoices collections.

Playing a role of increasing company business share:

- Continuously liaise with customers getting their feedback, overcome drawbacks and discuss possibility of increase work volume out of dependency and reliability between us.

Value added services to the clients:

- Lay time calculations and accordingly demurrage / despatch incurred.
- Weekly and Monthly accumulated grains statistics which aide traders to take the decisions about commercial deals.
