Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate on patient care and performance improvement activities. Acts on performance improvement issues identified during CQI meetings.
Entering all laboratory and radiology request through the HIS (hospital information system).
Entering all consumables in the HIS to enable the discharge procedures and to tally the stock with physically available items.
Maintains current knowledge of resources available within the community, maintain supply of resource materials to be distributed to patient when needed. Accurately determines type of assistance/setting/resources necessary for the patient/family and provides appropriate resources/assistance/list of facilities.
Count and verify the stock a regular basics.
Co-ordinate with all nursing in-charge with their stock status and make sure systems stock and physical stock is same.
Co-ordinate with the purchase department and nursing office regarding the status of orders in the departments.
Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
Maintains and respects confidentiality for patient/physician/personal information.
Documentation meets current standard and policies.
Assists patient/family with the grieving process, makes referrals to pastoral care, as appropriate.
