Nursing Vice-Head shall have the duty and responsibility to:
Prepare annual operational plan for nursing services of the Department.
Organize assignments of nurses and supporting staff’s at all functional areas of the
Department for quality clinical service delivery.
Declare task-assignments and work timetables of nurses of the Department to all Units
and Divisions.
Work with the Department head to ensure resources and inputs (e.g. medical devices,
equipment and consumables) are adequately available and efficiently utilized for smooth
functioning of nursing services in all functional areas of the Department.
Work with the College’s nursing quality directorate and other leadership to ensure
nursing services in the Department are aligned with relevant institutional and national
nursing standards and protocols.
Ensure patient, provider and work environment safety are upheld and maintained
maximally at all functional areas of the Department, including infection prevention,
cleanliness, and avoidance of harm to the patient during care and medication
administration.
Work to ensure conducive and refreshing work environment for nurses and all other
members of the multidisciplinary team’s in the Department.
Follow proper implementation of standard nursing processes and procedures in all service
areas of the Department.
Ensure effective and person-centered nursing care is provided in all clinical service
functional areas of the Department.
Ensure that all nurses are equipped with the skills required to optimally work with
multidisciplinary teams of the Department.
Involve in achieving adequate pain control practice, SSI tracking, basic surgical care and
KPI parameters in inpatient clinical service functional areas of the Department
Involve in achieving an improved clinical pharmacy service and practice in all inpatient
clinical service functional areas of the Department.
Ensure that daily nursing management rounds are done in all inpatient clinical service
functional areas of the Department.
Ensure that weekly nursing clinical audit reports are compiled for inpatient clinical
services of the Department.
Ensure proper documentation and communication of all other activities related to nursing
services of the Department.
Ensure that HDU and cardiac ICU patients have standard intensive nursing follow- up
and clinical nursing care.
Ensure proper dressing codes are followed by nurses and other staffs of the Department.
Follow nursing personnel performance of the Department
Organize regular nursing competency assessments in inpatient services of the
Department.
Establish skill lab for need-based capacity building activities for the nursing staffs of the
Department.
Involve in the effort to establish sustainable and effective client health education system
in all clinical service functional areas of the Department.
Work to assure psychological safety of staffs during handling of clinical service errors in
the Department to ensure learning from mistakes.
Handle challenges and complaints of nursing and other support staffs in delivering their
day-to-day activities and interaction with other members of the multidisciplinary team’s
in the Department.
Ensure nursing training and clinical attachments in the Department are performed as per
curriculum and effectively, and integrated and coordinated with patient care smoothly.
Ensure that provision of clinical patient care, teaching and research activities in the
Department are seamlessly orchestrated and coordinated.
Identify agenda for the Department Council meeting.
Actively participate during Department Council meetings of the Department.
Perform other responsibilities delegated to him/her by the Department Head.

Nursing Case Team Leader shall have the duty and responsibility to:

Must be customer oriented and work with staff to achieve desired outcomes.
Will work collaboratively with the dental and OMFS Department Chair to solve
problem, organize systems and structure that will facilitate patient care
Coordinate the daily functions of the program in the units, maintaining an efficient
turnover
Fulfill responsibilities of an Operating Room Nurse; assist with circulating and
scrubbing duties as required
Orientate new Nurses student & staff to the equipment and procedures
Declare nursing staff assignments and timetable for the Unit (or Division).
Monitor delivery of nursing clinical services in the Unit (or Division).
