In addition to my role as Finance Manager, I am also the Deputy CEO since Q1 2017, Deputy General Manager since 2006 and Program and Operation Manager since 2014.
Experienced in leading and management of several mega project of above SAR 50 million, including the complete responsibility of managing the startup of a single project of SAR 235 million with Ministry of Interior for management and implementation of long distance Fiber Optic network of approx. 1, 500 km.
BATCO is a leading Telecommunication, Electromechanical, Operation & Maintenance, IT and OSP solutions provider working with operators, vendors, government and semi-government sectors. A snapshot of my responsibilities encompasses:
Managerial Activities:
• Lead, direct & coordinate the activities of Finance, Sales, Planning & Operations, Human Resources, IT and EHS.
• Providing leadership in the development of short & long-term strategic & financial objectives.
• Providing leadership in formulating & administering company policies & procedures.
• Converse with the Group CFO and Group CEO on all operational & strategic issues.
• Directing & coordinating in setting departmental goals, measuring & communicating progress.
• Development & preparation of annual budgets, quarterly financial forecasts & preparing feasibility studies.
• Presenting financial & operational performance reports (including budgets and re-forecasts) during quarterly board meetings.
• Closely working with Sales & Tendering team to identify & approve the participation in new business opportunities.
• Review & approve the costing & pricing for new business opportunities.
• Negotiating new business opportunities & renewal of existing contracts.
• Ensuring compliance with local & group financial reporting policies & procedures, in accordance with IFRS and SOCPA (local GAAP).
• Review & analysis of VAT implications on the business, guide the preparation of the Finance, IT, Procurement & Sales for VAT readiness, review & update of existing contracts.
• Implementing risk assessment policies & procedures; updating internal control systems & maintaining integrity of accounting & management information systems.
• Recommend & drive enhancements of company-wide IT systems.
• Develop & monitor KPI’s to measure financial & operational performance.
• Plan Human Resources requirement; approve hiring & termination of Operation, Finance & IT.
• Identifying, recruiting, coaching & counseling managers, communicating values, strategies & objectives.
• Prepare & recommend the annual appraisals, sales commission & bonuses for the company.
• Building company image, enforcing organizational standards & ethical business practices.
Operational & Financial Activities:
• Preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, cash flow & variance analysis.
• Preparing and controlling operational budgets.
• Identify, review and approve plans to control budget spending and improve labor efficiency.
• Conducting meeting with operational heads to monitor sales targets & budgeted margins against actual results & raising flags for timely decision making.
• Review & approval of the monthly timesheets for the company.
• Cash flow planning, implementation of collection policies and managing working capital.
• Maintaining strong relationships with banks, negotiate project financing, short term loans, credit facilities, loans rescheduling, LC’s and LG’s.
• Coordinate with external audits for timely issuance of financial reports & GAZT filings.
• Approve payments, ensure compliance with procurement policies and schedule of authority.
• Review, negotiation and approval of the subcontracting agreements.
• Liaison with external service providers such as lawyers and insurance agents for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
• Conduct periodic physical verification of company’s assets and inventory.
• Supervise accounting function, maintaining accounting manuals and standard practice instructions.
AMI serves the growing market for a wide range of commercial vehicle and superstructures in Middle East and North Africa. Highlights of the key responsibilities include:
• Preparing monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow, ensuring accuracy and group reporting timelines.
• Assist in the preparing annual budget and preparing board meeting presentations.
• Reviewing expenses and monitoring the company & departmental performance against approved budgets, and report variances.
• Identifying cost cutting areas and monitoring implementation of cost saving initiatives.
• Improvement in cost accounting application, calculation of cost of labor, material & factory overhead and product costing using job order costing and back flashing.
• Control on inventories and verifying physical stock inventories quarterly.
• Monitor receivables, cash flow, payables, and maintaining fixed assets register.
• Dealing with banks regarding Forex requirements, payroll, LC’s, and LG’s.
• Coordinate with auditors to ensure timely issuance of financial reports & GAZT filing.
• Control of financial records, trail balance, general ledger, monthly accruals.
• Communication with ERP administrators for reporting improvements.
