• Managing EBS and multiple databases and planning the setups of databases in organizations. Administering databases, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. Responsible for data modeling and architecting when required.
• Successfully implemented oracle data guard on 11gr2 .Installed Physical and Snapshot standby db successfully. Administering the standby database. Checking the Archive Synchronization, Performed the SWITCH over and FAILOVER. Duplicating the target database using RMAN and recovering it in the standby.
• Performed migration from Oracle Database 10g to 11g including selecting Hardware, Software, database sizing & fine tuning with minimum downtime and excellent performance tuning.
• Creating storage structures, database objects like tables, indexes, views as and when required. Managing database users, roles, privileges and security in all database environments.
• Scheduled jobs using UNIX CRON utility to perform full and daily Incremental levels backups through RMAN. Maintain a contingency plan for data recovery, testing it periodically and keeping the trial of the plan to ensure its validity.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of Oracle RMAN, performed lots of Cloning and Recoveries. Independently implemented centralized backups using RMAN and DR site in AWS.
• Experience in creating catalog for multiple databases, implementing backup strategy. Experience in Backups, Restore and Recovery operations using RMAN. Taking Data-pump utility for logical exports and performing imports for user errors or creating test setups.
• Involved in continuous database monitoring and tuning to ensure excellent performance; troubleshoot any performance related issues. Involved in performance tuning of database - SQL Tuning, working on Tuning utilities like STATSPACK, TKPROF, EXPLAIN PLAN, AWR, ADDM & Tuning of SGA, Distribution of disk I/O, Sizing of tables and indexes
• Monitoring the DB health, Running Health Monitor manually whenever needed for diagnostic check following database errors, daily backup check, database status check, CPU utilization, disk utilization (I/O activity), contentions, runtime of queries, etc.
• Checking Space monitoring, and checking and updating pending statistics, setting up Database Maintenance Plans to reorganize indexes, re-indexing and update the index statistics on the production databases.
• Responsible for documentation, creating the documents for database physical structure changes, configuration changes and updating backup and recovery procedure document with the latest contingency plan.
• Expertise in creating MIS reports using Qlikview Business Intelligence from SQL & Oracle Databases.
• Providing orientation to new joiners in the organization on the related software applications; and training them as per their job role.
• Significantly optimized travel agency and holidays business database applications which were dead slow.
• Timely Patching and refreshing databases.
• Provided 24/7 support for the database environment: Troubleshooting, Capacity Planning, Performance Tuning, Monitoring and Alerting, Backup and Recovery, Business Recovery
• Created DR site on AWS Cloud server and monitoring the successful transfer and application of archive logs.
