Responsibilities
High competence level of preparing intravenous admixtures under aseptic conditions.
Preparing and supervises the preparation of TPN (total parenteral nutrition)
Compounding hazardous and cytotoxic medications in oncology pharmacy.
Excellent dealing with the Pyxis MedStation™ system.
Answers nurses inquiries regarding pyxis machine errors and how to deal with it.
Checking the prepared patient’s cassettes to ensure that all medications are correct in order to prevent mistakes and missing doses.
Performs a professional work in the compounding and dispensing of medications in unit dose.
Participates in Codes.
Compounding intravenous admixtures and high alert medications under aseptic conditions.
Pain Management Pharmacy: Dispensing high alert medications and narcotics to the patients making sure that they are completely aware of the dose regimen.
Pediatric Oncology Pharmacy: Dispensing chemotherapeutics medications and provide the patient with in detailed information about how to take it correctly.
Patient counseling and make sure that the patient is aware of the chemotherapy cycle.
Provide the patient with any concern about side effects of the medications and how to deal with it.
