Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) consists of 12 hospitals & 12 Emergency Centers in addition to EMS (Emergency Medical Services) and A&E (Accident & Emergency) that are belonging to each hospital and 6 Dialysis Centers with more than 24, 000 employees

I'm managing all EUD’s (End User Devices) conventional & clinical (like nursing stations, wall mounted computers, tracking monitors…etc.) for all of HMC which are more than 60, 000 installations (procurement, planning, distribution, installation & operation)
Setting the Standards & Specifications of IT Devices H/W for all of HMC
Supervise the day to day activities for all hospitals & emergency centers
Preparing and Evaluating Tenders from Vendors of all EUD’s
Joining the Planning, Projects and Implementation teams
A member in the Directory Board for planning
A member in several committees across of HMC
4th-Dimension W.L.L. is an SGI partner and a subsidiary of Al-Sarya Group, I joined them in December 1998 till June 2010, I’m working as a technical support manager, and now I have more than fifteen years of experience with SGI systems.
I did many SGI installations, I will list big of them
- Texas A&M University at Qatar Foundation (TAMUQ) … 512 CPU’s SGI Cluster System that
is connected to TA&M in USA and a storage system from PANASAS of 60 T.B. gross capacity
(43.6 T.B. net capacity).
- Virtual Reality Centre at Texas A&M University at Qatar Foundation (TAMUQ) in conjunction
with FakeSpace for displaying systems
- Air Forces Qatar … fighter’s training simulator
- News system in Jazeera Satellite Channel (JSC)
- Weather system (ACCUWeather) in JSC & Qatar TV
- Virtual studio for JSC … in conjunction with Brain Waves / Brain Storm companies
- Three SGI systems -high end multi racks systems- for simulation at Qatar Petroleum (QP)
- Simulation Server -high end multi racks system- at RAS GAS
- Virtual Reality Center at OXY Qatar in conjunction with SEOS for displaying systems
- GEO 2002 … it’s an inernational Oil & Gas exhibition in Bahrain, there were seven SGI systems
of high end technology varying from dual rack to four rack systems, the installation was
including two virtual reality systems, one for “Total Final” while the second was for “Land
Mark Graphics”.
- Meteorology Project in Qatar … the system is connected to Doha Inernational Airport
Al-Sarya Group is one of the biggest groups of companies in Qatar of more than 2000 empolyees.
It has seven subsidiaries that are working in different areas of business, in addition, IT Department is responsible to manage all aspects of Al-Mezaan Holding & Al-Noor Holding which they are totally owned by the same owner of Al-Sarya Group.
My role started in June 2009 when the owner decided to do restructuring for his companies, I’m totally responsible for the following
- Planning, Designing & Implementing the IT infrastructure which consists of
a- Data Centre or Server Room, using the latest standards of UCSD (University of California, San Diego), Al-Sarya Group Tower is located at Al-Muntaza Area
b- LAN, it’s 1 GB bandwidth and is based on CISCO
c- WAN, it’s 8MB leased line and 12 VPN connections
d- Unified Communication System including IP Telephony, it’s based on CISCO UCWL System (Unified Communication Workspace License)
e- Servers, they are microsoft based and implemented on HP DL Servers series, (Win 2008R2 Domain/Active Controller, Exchange 2010, ISA Server, Storage Server)
f- HP Open View Operation Manager (HPOV OM), to monitor the servers performance as well as we use it to provide the same service to our clients who are looking for out sourcing like VODAFONE World Money System (as Al-Sarya Telecome is a VODAFONE Partner)
g- VODAFONE DR (Disaster Recovery) of World Money, it’s RedHat Enterprise Linux based, we are providing all required operation & maintenance services for the DR System
h- Documentation for the IT Department
i- Forms & Reports to be used internally in the group
MICA Qatar Consulting Services is one of the pioneer companies in the state of Qatar in business consultations and projects management. I joined MICA in October 2007 till June 2008 (as MICA is subsidiary of Al-Sarya Group)
My duty is to give an IT support and services for the internal & external staff as well as the clients and professionally administrating and using MICA’s proposed management system, this requires a wide range and good knowledge in different areas like DataBase specially SQL Server, Networking, Remote Administration, Multi O.S. environment in addition to installing and maintaining Primavera Project Management (ver. 6.1) and Primavera Contract Manager (Expedition ver. 11.1).
During the period of working with MICA, I was responsible for the 25 schools project that is owned by Ashghal (Public Works Authority -PWA-), my duty is to design and do the required setup for the project (setting up the server, installing the s/w, connecting the remote sites to PWA main tower and maintaining the system operation and performance during the project’s period)
Also, I re-build and re-designed the IT infrastructure at MICA office building, this includes re-structuring the LAN and configuring & implementing new five servers (file server, training server, e-mail server, primavera server and failsafe server) some are UNIX based while others are Windows 2003 based
I started working in April 1994 till November 1998 as system support engineer (SSE) then IRIX OS instructor
I did too many installations and designing of integrated systems.
Major projects
- Cairo TeleComp 1997 Exhibition … my job was to install and configure an intgrated computer system for video on demand using SGI media servers with MediaBase S/W and doing a video broadcasting ranging from internet quality to near broadcast quality, this system was connected to the internet -in cooperation with zacnet & starnet isp- for purpose of internet broadcasting
- 6th October Hospital Tele-Medicine … the purpose of this system is to do a tele-communication between the operation room and the consultant doctor who is located in a hospital in the US or UK by transferring a video in a real time with the highest possible quality, the design priod for the project was seven months.
The major problem was connecting the medical equipment (like MRI, X-Ray, Ultra-Sound…..etc.) to a computer server in conjunction with video streams that are coming from the operation room(s) and doing a non distorted transformation for all of data to the media server hence the data will be ready for broadcasting consedring that every thing should be done in a real time, the project is owned by “Prof./Dr./ Hatem Gabaly (faculty of medicine / AinShams University / Cairo / Egypt)

Technologia - ARK Computers, was one of the biggest companies in Egypt, I started working in October 1994 till April 1995 as part-time, it was required to manage the support department for six months as well as supporting the company products (PC’s, Servers, Terminals, Monitors and Printers) and training some one to hold the position
PACER Consultants is one the four offices groupe owned by German-Egyptian Consortium for Engineering and Consultants (PRI - L&P - DC - PACER).
I started working in August 1993 till August 1994 (Aug.1993 to March 1994 as full-time & April 1994 to Aug. 1994 as part-time).
My job title was “Chief of Automation” in addition to supporting and administrating the computer system in the office.
I attended one of the biggest projects in Egypt - Dammietta Rehabilitation Project-, I made the design for the automation system.
H/A is classified as the first in Dewatring systems - Soil Mechanics, I started working in November 1989 till april 1993. I build up the computer system in the office, it was a five floors building.
The main target was to automate and computrise every thing starting from employees time stamping and internal memos, faxes, data sharing…etc.
All computers were HP, the system consists of three HP-9000 servers, two CAD/CAM workstations, 40 PC’s in addition to printers and plotters, all were connected to a coaxial network.
My job was to allocate the resources for the running projects hence doing a coordination till the client gets all project documents then doing the archiving
It’s an aggressive training course in doing an administration and a factory installation for the clustered systems that run Linux RedHat & SuSE Enterprise o.s & ScaliManage s/w, it was in year 2008
The training course consists of three phases, a-) hardware installation and diagnosis for Supermicro & IntelPlus server boards b-) hardware installation, configuration and diagnosis for Voltair IB switch & SMC GbE switch c-) cluster cabling & system Interconnects the course also covers Intel & AMD processors as well as blade technology, it was in year 2008
It’s a Parallel Cluster Storage system, a new technology from PANASAS USA in a massive storage systems that supports DirectFLOW, NFS & CIFS o.s. , it was in year 2008
I did four ISP installations using SGI servers withen the years of 1996 & 1997
This s/w is SQL based with a special interface made by the S-Magic for helping support engineers in general like managing calls, spare parts and customer database and more, it was in 1997
Graduated from Hydraulics Department (July 1994) Project Title was “Improvement of Old Irrigation Systems” The goal is to remotly automate an old irrigation system using the computer control over an area of 176000 feddan (1 feddan = 4200 square meters), this was including some modifications for the existing hydraulic structures and navigation channels as well as drainage system (adding some sensors with devices for transmitting and receiving remot control signals, this transimission was using an existing microwae network and coded radio waves) The project design time was ten months, it’s owned by “Ministry of Public Works and Water Resources” with a fund from the Canadian government I received a reward from the Egyptian Government and a certificate of merit from the Minister of Water Resources
Studying a NCC Diploma, it was in “Transaction Processing System”, my score percentage was 98.3%
