Responsibilities included Monitoring & Managing the Enterprise level Network of the Ministry of Education Featuring Firewalls from Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, F5 Appliances, Cisco Call Managers & Wireless LAN Controllers, Bluecoat ProxyServers, VMware vSphere 5.5 based Virtualization and the Core Infrastructure based on Cisco Routers & Switches; Reducing Network Down time and increasing Service Availability without compromising Network Security.

Responsibilities:
- Redesigning and Fine-tuning the Network Infrastructure of the Ministry of Education
- Configuration and Administration of Cisco Nexus 7009 Switches in the Core
- Troubleshooting routine routing, switching and security issues in the Network
- Ensuring Network Security along with Minimum Service Disruption
- Creating, Implementing and managing Security Policies on the Fortigate, Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls
- OSPF & BGP routing between the MOE Zonal Sites and with the Ministry of Finance
- Setting up the F5 LTM
- Load balancing Production Servers using the F5 LTMs
- Configuring iRules on F5 LTMs according to Application needs
- SSL Offloading & SSL Certificate Management
- Coordinating with Vendors/Service providers during Installation/Maintenance
- Controlling Network Access
- Device Hardening for all Network Equipment
- Set up and maintained the Network Operations Center (NOC) at the Ministry of Education.
- Helping out End Users with Network Issues
- Upgrading IOS/Firmware on all the Network Devices
- RMA management for defective units
- Responsible for the configuration, maintenance and management of the L2 & L3 Network Infrastructure of the 10 Zonal offices of MOE Spread across U.A.E
- Capacity Planning and suggesting Solutions to improve Network
- Data Center revamping & Maintenance
- Configuration & Management of Local DNS, DHCP & NTP on the Infoblox
- Creating Network LLD Documentation and updating it as changes occurred

- Installing Cisco Routers and Switches and configuring them as required
- Optimizing L2 and L3 for best performance
- Implementing HA to increase availability and reduce downtime
- Configuring OSPF for general routing
- Load Balancing Internet Traffic over multiple ADSL line using NAT and PBR
- Upgrading IOS on all Cisco Devices
- Device Hardening of All Cisco Equipment
- Taking regular Configuration Backup of the Network Devices
- Monitoring Entire Network using Solarwinds’ Orion Network Performance Monitor (Orion NPM) and providing Level-1 & Level-2 Support.
