I am working as Divisional health, safety & Environment Manager for Electrification business in ABB Saudi Arabia. I am member of ABB country Safety council for planning and participating in establishing procedure, leading incident investigation and defining corrective and preventive actions. I am part of group audit and assurance and Incident investigation team. Developing and supporting country management representative on ABB way Management system (based on ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 50001-2018) development and implementation. As Divisional HSE Manager my key responsibilities are as under:
• Demonstrate a strong commitment towards health and safety standards and guidelines, management systems and procedures
• Provide functional oversight, direction, and guidance of health and safety aspects throughout the organization
• Monitor, coordinate, measure performance, and report on, all health and safety activities throughout the organization
• Further develop and implement organization-wide health and safety initiatives including processes and procedures
• Communicate all health and safety initiatives, processes and procedures throughout the organization to ensure all persons have a common and uniform understanding
• Monitor compliance of health and safety requirements and handle non- conformance issues according to relevant procedures
• Coaching senior and line managers to achieve excellence in health and safety

• Assist and guide all levels of management, supervisors and HSE advisors to implement accident prevention activities plus where necessary provide interface to Contractors/Clients
• Roll-out where necessary, initiate and maintain quality input of a health and safety management system which meets the OHSAS18001 specifications

• Carry out safety audits, investigate accidents and root causes, introduce, and supervise corrective actions

• Monitor, communicate and apply standards created and/or maintained by external bodies, and integrate within internal health, safety management systems

• Maintain a working knowledge of health and safety legislation, best practices and industry standards in all jurisdictions in which the organization operates

• Provide guidance on competency-based health and safety training for all persons throughout the
Organization

• Develop and implement health and safety management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization’s annual business plan and long-term strategy

• Research and prepare technical information on specific health and safety topics and issues as required
• Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales

Being OHS Manager for Factories my responsibilities were:

• To ensure that the health and safety management system is being fully implemented and maintained.
• To maintain and keep up to date a copy of the policy statement and agreed working practices and, as far as possible, to ensure that members of staff are aware of these requirements.
• To ensure that all business units have documented risk assessments record and are being reviewed on regular basis.
• To monitor and ensure action plans raised from department safety representatives and risk assessments are completed within a predetermined time scale and approve for final close out.
• To conduct regular OHS meetings with representatives to collect and collate data from performance measurements
• To ensure that any Incident/accident is recorded and that any requirement to notify the enforcement authority in writing is complied with.
• To ensure where required investigation reports are completed following any incident and that any control measures that may be required are implemented within a predetermined time scale.
• To ensure any action following an incident is implemented.
• To monitor and ensure any non conformance raised from audits is completed within a predetermined time scale and approves for final close out.
• To review the inspection reports of the premises in order to check on the existence of hazards or potential hazards and, where they are found to exist, to bring the matter to the attention of supervisors or management.
• To ensure that In case of installation of any new machinery it must be in accordance with manufacturer instruction and where any specialized instruction or training is required for such machinery must seek those.

Working as Senior OHS Adviser my key responsibilities were:

• Establish the Project Safety Plan.
• Set the pace for the Project Safety Plan & Project Loss prevention Program with the Safety Engineer.
• Establish and direct the Site Safety Programs & Ensure that safe procedures, practices, regulations, and client rules are being implemented.
• Provides full support to the safety program by enthusiastically advocating those programs.
• Monitor the project safety status through the daily/weekly safety reports from safety Engineer.
• Set up safety incentive programs to recognize and motivate employees.
• Initiate disciplinary actions necessary to develop a good functioning safety program.
• Make safety plan for those operations which have a potential loss above the normal construction hazard.
• Investigate accident/incident reported by safety engineer & forwarding report to Country OHS advisor.
• Ensure that the necessary corrective action is taken.
• Sets a personal example (roll model) on site visits by wearing appropriate protective clothing.
• Participate and conduct safety inspections, audits, and assessments for all project locations in his region, and submits reports to the OHS Advisor and the Project Managers for appropriate actions.
• Provide specialist advice and assistance on safety matters to the Project Managers and the Safety Engineer.

My responsibilities as Management Representative were to:

• Identify, establish, implement, and maintain procedure / processes as required by the international standards
• Report to management the performance of all processes and recommend wherever improvements are required
• Promote throughout the organization awareness of meeting customer requirements and thus achieving customer satisfaction through effective implementation of all the processes
• Monitoring of the corrective and preventive actions taken
• Arranging the management review meetings and keeping the records for these meeting
• Be assure about the implementations of the recommendations in management review meetings
• Making the schedule for internal audits and arrange the proper training for the internal quality auditors
• Registration of the documents, approval of documents, issue and retrieval and also training.
• Issuance of the internal communications related to quality management system and maintains the record of such communication.
• Identification of quality improvement opportunities
• Establishes the quality objectives for all areas of company, which should be specific, time bound, measurable, realistic and achievable.

My responsibilities included:

• Attend morning operation meeting to determine the day’s activities of each department in order to plan and prepare in advance which operation will need fire and safety requirements also discuss and advise the responsible person about the safety procedure and requirements on the intended operation.
• Responsible for the operation, inspection, documentation, materials and preventive maintenance of the following safety related equipments to ensure the regular and emergency readiness:
o Breathing air cascade system o SCBA & BA Compressor
o PPE & Fall arresting equipments o Confined space equipments
o Sound meters o Smoke and H2S gas detectors
o Fire protection equipments o Eye wash
• Strictly enforce the permit to work system and conduct the on-spot safety audit
• Perform the H2S gas and atmospheric check
• Conduct immediate incident investigation and prepare the report, addressed therein the recommendations and actions to prevent reoccurrence
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports also the other related reports for the OHS Manager
• Conduct refresher training, inductions and orientation for fire fighting, PPE, fire prevention and protection and other safety related courses to new employees.
