Throughout my internship I have been working on projects for Heineken, Amstel light, Coca cola and BP Castrol. My role within these projects has varied greatly and my knowledge of the marketing/advertising industry has significantly broadened. Roles and responsibilities have included:


- Managing the finalization of Artworks
- Managing the middle east social media pages for one of the worlds largest beer brands
- Writing creative, design and artwork briefs for up and coming projects

- Liaising with media contacts regarding magazine ads

- Developing timing plans for projects to ensure deadlines are met

- Finance - Learning the full finance process from start to finish which includes developing cost estimates on Dolphin Finance, receiving client PO's, supplier quotes, raising internal PO’s, billing sheets and invoices.

For two years I assisted in developing PR and marketing strategies for various entertainment venues and leading UK nightclubs. This included developing social media marketing promotions on sites such as Facebook and Twitter. I was also put in charge of a smaller team of promoters ensuring they were promoting effectively on social media sites as well as handing out flyers across various popular spots in the city. I was also regularly put in charge of the guest list for these venues and managed the queues to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the attendees.

I have recently graduated with a 2:1 in Business Studies (Msc) from The University of Edinburgh. My aim is to gain valuable experience in a fast paced marketing or PR environment. I spent a month last summer interning at an events management company in Dubai where I aided in developing marketing and PR plans for forthcoming events. On top of this I was tasked with communicating with existing and potential clients regarding all up and coming events, promoting them wherever possible. This then allowed me to cleanse and update the company’s database. This placement has given me the important communication and organizational skills needed in any working environment. I have had various part time jobs at university which, combined with my internship last summer, have given me valuable customer service and interpersonal skills. Furthermore, through working on marketing campaigns and business strategy group projects in various university courses, I have developed a strong ability to work in a team and use each person’s best assets in forming a successful project or campaign. These projects have given me experience in market research, budgeting and planning. The dissertation I developed in my final year was ‘A Qualitative Study Examining Consumer’s Emotional Responses to Music in Advertisements’. Using theories from behavioral and brain sciences I was able to explain the respondents behaviors and bring these theories to the fields of advertising and consumer research. My dissertation allows for a new perspective on consumer responses to advertising. I thoroughly enjoyed my university experience however I feel I am now ready to pursue a career in my chosen field. I am driven to succeed in everything I do and will always use my best assets to contribute to success in the workplace.
