My main activities and responsibilities are:
• Contractually supervise and manage all the active Projects during the various phases: contract negotiation, mobilization, execution and close‐out;
• Elaborate Contractual and Commercial strategies in liaison with the Senior Management in order to drive significant improvements in the company revenues and reduction of overall risks exposure;
• Administer claims and variations in accordance with the Contract provisions enhancing the success rate of the same, thus improving the company’s profitability;
• Track key Contractual dates to ensure all Contracts terms are applied timely and correctly, safeguarding the company’s rights;
• Actively manage the entire process of bank guarantees such as Advance Payment Guarantee, Performance Bond and Retention Bond in compliance with the Contract provisions and the Law requirements;
• Lead the process of project specific insurances (i.e. Contractor’s All Risk, Third Party Liability, Professional Indemnity) and corporate insurances (i.e. Workmen’s Compensation, Plant & Machinery, Motor Vehicle, Transit Insurance) in line with the Contractual provisions, company’s standards and Law requirements;
Engineering, Procurement and Construction of Rabigh II - Naphtha and Aromatics Project in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. Total value 700 million US Dollars.
My main activities and responsibilities were:
• Instrumental in managing the entire array of contracts administration operations of the Project, ensured smooth implementation of the workflow within the given time/cost constraints.
• Profitably managed Sub-Contracts to prevent possible claims by Sub-Contractors/Vendors (e.g. cost reimbursement, Extension of Time) and handle the existing ones reducing Company overall exposure;
• Tracked key Contract dates to ensure all Contracts terms were applied timely and correctly including, but not limited to, Liquidate Damages activation;
• Identified and assessed risks, established contingency plans for effective project risk reduction.
• Managed contract variations in accordance with contract provisions and organizational policy and procedures.
• Successfully negotiated and closed high-end contractual deals. Recommended strategies that significantly benefited the outcome of the Project.
• Liaised with the client senior management and troubleshot any areas of conflict between the project management team and the client to ensure a smooth and continuing working relationship.
Engineering, Procurement and Construction of 140 MIGD (million gallon/day) potable water desalination plant Project at Jebel Ali M Station, Dubai, UAE. Contract value 1.1 billion US Dollars.
My main responsibilities and achievements were:
• Maintained contractual records and documentation including receipt and control of all contract correspondence, contractual changes, status reports and other necessary documents;
• Monitored subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters, prevented claims by Sub-Contractors by directly intervening minimizing the associated risks;
• Instrumental in achieving positive management of the active claims to Sub-Contractors in coordination with the involved departments with an increased success rate of the same;
• Achieved a positive management of the active claims towards the Main Client by providing support and Contractual analysis/strategies that led to the elaboration and consequent approval of a complex Extension of Time for Completion request;
• Directed and coordinated the closeout process, ensured completion of contract requirements and that all the contractual conditions were satisfied before approval of the final invoice and commencement of the relevant Warranty Period;
