• Complete hardware and software builds for new server deployments, ensuring adherence to documented build procedures.

• Assist with all facets of build process, including shipping and receiving, identification of product incompatibility and work around solutions needed.

• Document work orders outlining steps taken and final resolution/outcome. Elaborating for some projects based on pre-installation form with detailed information about power (PDUs capacity, AC/DC circuits, breakers capacity etc.), networking (fibre or RJ45, CAT6) cabinet drawing and working directly with local Vendor for quotes.

• Deploy new equipment, such as building racks, cabling, and other tasks as necessary

• Perform data centre walk-throughs verifying alerts for PDUs and HVAC, as well as for any server ambers lights reporting any finds to technical support. Weekly Tacking Projects and Capacity Planning, this is used by our data centre Infrastructure team in tracking all the current projects stored on MS Share point.

• Data centre health check report spreadsheet with information's about possible alarms for all equipment from data centre, detailed information's and rack density (% of cabinet and racks usage)

• Audit data centre: spares, cabinets, rows, hardware, fibre and patch cables and cross connects. completed the Audit of data centre assets inventory using spreadsheets, tagging scanning, receiving assets and parts from purchase order, transfer, update, etc.).

• Perform installation and operations duties for data centre facilities, as required.

• Assist in maintenance and monitoring of all data centre systems to include incidents/events, problems, changes, monitoring, problem escalation / notification / resolution and all other aspects of data centre support.

• Maintain and troubleshoot leased or lodged hardware machine in the data centre.

• Racking and stacking servers in their cabinet, and make sure properly labelled.

• Add / remove hardware device.

• Make sure raid is implemented mostly hardware raid 1 and raid 5.

• Some case software raid(mdadm)

• Make sure all OS are running and updated accordingly.

• Windows server 2008 & R2, Linux( Redhat 6.x, Centos 6.x, Ubuntu)

• Basic troubleshooting and provide reason why client cant connect.

• Domains / DNS

• Register/ update /transfer and delete domains with Uniforum and other international registrars.

• Populate zone files as per client’s request, (A, NS, MX, TXT, SRV and other
• host records.

• Pull zone file history.

• Maintain and update Org.za registry.

• Virtual Machines.

• Deploy new VM with as per customer specifications.

• Maintain and troubleshoot.

• Make sure VM can breakout, and are part of correct VLAN.

• VM client 5.x usage

• Platform related queries mostly escalated to VM team.

• Backups.

• Provide backup report card to clients.

• Troubleshoot unsuccessful backups and provide reason to clients.

• Symantec netbackup, Attix5 and IS managed backups (Internet Solutions backup agent).

• Technical product support (1st and 2nd line) to customers .

• Liaise with the customers on a regular basis .

• Logging and tracking of Service Requests.

• Own the SR lifecycle to conclusion.
