Pakistan Canadian Multinational IPP Thermal Power Plant having
capacity of 135MW at Raiwind Road Lahore.
SEPCOL is equipped with five SEMT PIELSTICK Engines each of capacity 23.5 MW and one MAN
Diesel Engine of capacity 18.4 MW. PIELSTICK Engines used at our plant are the largest Diesel Engines
in Pakistan. All Engines are coupled with ABB Generators. All LV, MV and HV Switchgears are of
ABB. My responsibilities includes the following,
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) of Power Transformers, Generators, Motors and Switchgears
* Work on maintenance of power generation equipments including ABB Generators
* Maintenance of Electrical Instruments and installation of new breakers, relays, contactors and
overloads etc
* Installation of new controllers for controlling of processes etc
* Work on PLC and also DCS etc
* Maintenance of Switch Yard breakers including SF6 breakers etc
* Daily work reports and work division among technicians etc
* Supervise, direct and demonstrate day to day maintenance activities, engineering requirement,
troubleshooting, overhauling and repair techniques
* Ensure high reliability and availability of the electrical plant
* Make decisions and give appropriate technical direction as required to staff in understanding their
responsibilities
* Work scheduling, comprehensive planning, well in time decision making and its implementation
* Perform root cause failure analysis and make recommendations to avoid future failures
* Identify improvements in work practices at the plant
* Ensure safety of plant, workers and environment
* Preparation of section budget
* Provide team supervision and develop highly motivated and well trained flexible work force
* Ensure that capital and efforts are put to the most profitable use
* Solutions for long-term engineering problems related to electrical systems
* Evaluate the requirement of strategic spares for the plant’s commercial operation
