• Conduct environmental monitoring as per CEAP- Construction Environment Action Plan, which is formulated from the findings of project’s EIA and EMP in the phase of feasibility study.
• Monitoring off-shore marine construction as well as ground working group and workshops.
• Qualitative monitoring; management of general waste from vessel and ground, oil and grease storing and handling, storing and recycling of Grouting materials, collection and treatment of Piling soil, management of bentonite treatment facility, chemical storage, hazardous waste storage and general waste disposal pit, maintain log book for waste generation and accidental spillage.
• Disposal of dredged materials, management of Containment bund, internal sewerage management, Camp compliance condition, landscape rehabilitation after construction.
• Monitor off shore construction activities; concreting, load test, base grouting, PD test and hammering of pile driving operation etc.
• Test supervision and analyze of Quantitative parameters; Ambient Air Quality, Indoor Air Quality, Surface - Ground and Drinking water, Dredge spoils, Dredge effluent Noise measurement (above and under water), bathymetric survey and weather data.
• Erosion Control, protection of private land, Wetland protection regarding fisheries and wildlife.
• Participate bimonthly all stakeholder progress meeting and bimonthly HSE meeting.

• Monitor and supervise the civil work in regard to contract’s environmental clauses. Ensure contractor’s responsibility of health and environmental safety as per ADB’s requirements.
• Supervise and analyze the quantitative testing; Drinking water, Ground water, and Noise level. Other parameters include waste management, oil handling, site clean-up, and structural slope protection.
• Follow the safety procedure of installing of signaling and OFC cable with minimum impact to nature.
• As per monitoring specified in project EMP, prepare monthly environmental progress report with EMWS, attend monthly progress meeting.

• Prepare monthly environmental report based on inspection on several environmental parameters that specified in EMP; hydrology and flood pattern, navigation routes, drainage congestion, erosion protection, landscape rehabilitation, worker’s health and safety, workforce camp condition, waste management, wildlife availability, fish migration, and quantitative testing.
• Analyze and supervise quantitative Testing; AAQ, surface and ground water and noise level.
• Conduct annual environmental audit with International environmental specialists of different stakeholders. Analyze the situation in the aspect of Baseline condition mentioned in IEE and EIA.

• Carry out a survey on environmental degradation due to plastic wastes at Hatirjheel Lake dumped by the visitors. Find out the sources of various emissions from sewerage lines, residual of constructing activity, emission from traffic etc.
• Identifying the possible environmental impacts like covering of lake bed with plastics, rise of water logging at connecting point with other lakes. Identifying degree of magnitude like calculate water holding capacity of the lake, approximate time for bed covering with plastics, difficulties that come in monsoon period. The litter deposited at the lake and embankment runs a high risk to connect water in monsoon.
• Prepare a management plan to protect Hatirjheel Lake resulting from plastic wastes. This include identify critical spot, study and evaluate the maintenance program. Formulate a time frame to collect wastes from lake bed and embankment before monsoon.

Internship at Ace Consultants Ltd, A subsidiary farm of SMEC International Pty Ltd, Australia

• Assist the team members to conduct EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) of the “Majhgram to Dhalarchar via Pabna New Rail Line Project”.
• Conducting interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) among the stakeholders to inform about the possible environmental constrain that would follow by the project and the strategies taken to lessen the effects. The impacts are land acquisition, heavy construction works, heavy equipment mobilization, air and water emission as residual of construction, noise pollution in operational phase etc. Managing strategies included monetary compensation, providing sound barrier, air and water quality monitoring etc.
• Assist team members in conducting baseline survey of the Socio-economic status of project area. That includes primary data collection of land use pattern and demography of project area. Land use patterns define agricultural field, public land, private land, forest and water body of the area. Data used for calculating the compensation pattern and amount given to the affected people.
• Preparing graphs, charts using the data collected from the baseline survey
