My primary role with Saudi Aramco was to review fire protection plans and designs for new projects from the scope development phase to the issuance of construction packages. This is followed by participation in the testing and commissioning of these systems. I have also participated in special fire protection and life safety studies. Some of my key contributions include;

Team Leader of the Fire Protection Department Project Commissioning Team at Khurais Oil Processing Facility Project (March-June 2008). The team handled fire alarm & detection systems of new substations, NOVEC 1230 system design review for new communication bldg., testing of foam system at crude oil tanks, and commissioning of air strip fire station.

Reviewed the fire protection designs for King Abdulaziz Cultural Center Bldg, 30% designs of Manifa Oil Field Development Project, Upgrade of Western Region Bulk Plants, Upgrade of Riyadh Refinery Substations, Upgrade of Armaco Medical Center at Al-Hasa, …etc.

Participated in the testing and commissioning of fire protection systems for various facilities including; firewater pumps at Qatif Gas Oil Separation Plants, Fire Alarm & Detection System at Dhahran R&D Building, FM-200 Suppression System at Abqaiq Plants, Firewater System at Haradh Gas Oil Separation Plants, …etc.

Conducted special studies on life safety and egress analysis for Aramco Main Administration Building (Tower Bldg) and other buildings based on IBC and NFPA 101 requirements. Utilized EVACNET software during these studies.

Beside my role as a fire protection engineer, I took one year assignment in fire protection operations and training. My activities during this assignment include;

Worked as a fire station shift supervisor (September-December 2006) at Uthmaniyah Gas Plant. Managing and leading shift crew
responding to emergencies at the Gas Plant and nearby oil rigs

Delivered fire protection training to firefighters and technicians in Aramco’s Advanced Fire Training Center.
