I joined the Faithful and Gould team based in Al Ula, KSA, as a Senior Commercial Manager for the program managed by the Clients, AlUla Development Company (UDC). I as a key member of the Client's Contracts and Commercial team, have been managing a team of 4 members, utilising my knowledge and experience to assist the Client in carrying out the pre-contract procurement and delivery strategy of several high-profile projects in the region. Once the projects are in delivery, I have to lead the team to deliver the post-contract services as well. As a highly experienced and qualified professional member, I am also responsible for mentoring the team and helping them upskill.
Responsibility:
• Presenting procurement and commercial strategies to the programme team for procuring the packaging for the programme.
• Working with procurement in the assessment of the Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) to finalise the final list of suppliers for the tender.
• Producing work package and drafting Request for Proposal (RFP/ITT) document pack to be issued to market.
• Tender analysis of the returns received from the RFP.
• Drafting and negotiating contracts (FIDIC Yellow and White book) with vendors/suppliers.
• Reviewing and negotiating final contract terms with the suppliers.
• Reporting on the Programme's progress.
Achievements:
• Effectively managed the team to produce quality Request for Proposal (RFP) document packages for the Marriott Autograph five-star hotel and issue them to the Market. I implemented methods to complete the work quickly and efficiently.
• Successfully negotiated and awarded FIDIC and UDC Bespoke contracts to Contractors and Consultants for several projects.

Reviewing, producing Claims and Proposing dispute avoidance or resolution measures.

Projects worked on: AXA Dagenham Data Centre, Virtus Data Centre, RAF Cranwell, RAF Lyneham. Working with Clients like NTT, Virtus, RES, EDF, Vattenfall, Weetabix, Amey Defence.
Implementing commercial processes and procedures in the company.
Preparing tender return documents, estimate and proposals.
Bridging the Financial and Commercial processes to eliminate the discrepancies in the commercial and financial reports.
Providing commercial and contractual advice to the Project Managers and other team members and instilling commercial awareness throughout the project team.
Check that we comply with all contractual and commercial requirements on the projects.
Preparation of commercial reports including Cost Value Reconciliations, cost forecast and cash flows and providing advice to the Management Team.
Manage the Change Control System. Including reviewing Compensation Events and negotiating and agreeing them with the Client.
Monitor and report on project risks and their effect on budget. Advising and making recommendation to the Management.
Administering and dealing with any Commercial issues with the Subcontractor or Suppliers.
Manage and develop individuals within the commercial team.
Overseeing commercial audit and compliance and identifying areas for continuous improvement in Processes.
Support improvements to project forecasting and the accuracy of scheme financial control forms.
Projects worked on: Construction of all the Power Generation site that the company built since 2015, project value ranging between values of £10million to £15 Million each. Grid connections of Solar Farms and Wind Farms value ranging from £100K to £1 million.
My Role: I joined the team as a QS providing support to the Senior QS on a project in Portsmouth and then moved to the Development team to Develop future schemes. I was made the Project QS for the Development Scheme which I then was fortunate to administer them commercially to the end and final account them.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Commercial and contractual support to the Project Manager.
Produce month end Cost Value Reconciliation report (CVR).
Forecast the monthly costs/value and End Life Position of the project.
Substantiate the Pain/Gain position of the project.
Adhere to the change control process by issuing Early Warning Notices and Notification of Compensation Events in accordance to the NEC 3 Form of Contract.
Pricing Compensation Events (which are additional Target Cost for the Client) and assessing the impact providing detailed commentary and analysis
Identify, report and price the Programme and Project Risks.
Work with the planners to record progress and Earned Value on the programme.
Administer subcontracts by carrying out monthly valuation and final accounts on completion using NEC 3 Form of Subcontracts.
Perform site checks by carrying out measurements on site and valuing works.
Assessment of Subcontractors Notification of Compensation Events and issuing compensation events.
Carry out take offs and measurement of quantities for works during the development of projects.
Produce Activity Schedules using the take off.
Assist Estimators in producing tenders.
Liaise with the company Accountants to establish accurate cost and cash neutrality reporting.

Various Over Head Lines Projects- Projects in Portsmouth, Manchester, Hinkley Point. Project values ranging between £2 million to £20 million.

Regalhelm are a high-end construction and refurbishment contractor, operating predominantly in the residential sector in and around London. I joined the team to assist the company owner to assist them with the day to day QS activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Measurements of materials from architects and engineering drawings.
Preparation of Schedule of works and Bill of Quantities.
Preparation of sub-contracting packages for tender pricing purposes.
Assisting the Senior Estimators in the pricing of Tender.
Taking site measurements.
Carrying out monthly valuations and dealing with payments to subcontractors.
Price evaluation and award of work to the subcontractors.
Projects worked on:
Dora Road New Build (6 No Houses, built using design and build procurement), Refurbishment and structural works at Randolph Crescent Property, Cavendish Road (Refurbishment of kitchen, new WC and shower rooms, Redoing Gardens, Minor Structural works), Kenilworth Avenue (New build house), Cambridge house London (Major structural works and refurbishment.
Reporting to: Senior Estimator
UPM Tilhill are a Landscape Contractor working on some large park schemes in and around South of England, mainly in London. I was taken on as an assistant estimator reporting to the Senior Estimator of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Measurements of materials using architects and engineering drawings.
Preparation of Bill of Quantities and Activity Schedules.
Preparation of sub-contracting packages for tender pricing purposes.
Assisting the Senior Estimators in the pricing of Tender.
Assisting in the preparation of quality submission and tender return documents.
Price comparison of the priced subcontracted works.

Fordham Park (South East London), Fairlop water (Essex), Eton Manor (Olympic Park London), Athletes Village (Olympics), Bishops Park restoration (Fulham), Victoria Park restoration (Central London), The Belvedere (Athletes Village)

Royal Haskoning is a consulting engineer and architectural firm. They deal with civil projects such as Infrastructure and maritime projects. I joined them as an enthusiastic Graduate to begin my career.
Key Responsibility
Measurement quantities from engineering drawings.
Preparation of Bill of Quantities using POMI, CESMM3 and SMM7.
Assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyors in carrying out valuations and producing tender and contract documents.
Assist the Principal Estimator in the preparation of Budget Estimate using Spons, Wessex and BCIS for Environmental agency project and Middle Eastern project.
Updating the company data bases by collecting the Indices from the BCIS website and other government websites from the Middle East as we dealt with many Middle East jobs.
Opportunity to work on Maritime, Coastal and river project, and some infrastructure (Bridges) and building projects.

As a trainee my job was to assist the Senior Quantity Surveyors on the ongoing job. I was assigned to mainly quantify the materials using the drawings issued to us by the engineers. I was also trained to produce parts of the bills using CESMM3 for Highway & infrastructure projects, bridge & underpass construction projects including water supply and drainage projects. I also assisted the Senior Quantity Surveyors in producing the tender and contract documents for the projects.
Projects worked on:
Turfana and Al- Rifa, roads and drainage upgrade, Al Bidayer Area development work, Cloverleaf interchange, Hamriyah free zone, KAA package 5 & 3, Rahmaniyah Underpass, Sharjah Industrial Zone, Camel souk shopping complex.(All these jobs were based in the U.A.E)
