Project Overview : Construction of 4 Government buildings and parking area
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Studies and assesses the target dates for the project and stays completely familiar with the work and the parameters of the work program.
Assists the Resident Construction Manager and the Superintendents in the preparation of the construction plan.
Prepares the site plan consistent with the requirements and availability of the drawings, specifications, target dates and definitive estimate.
Utilizes the progress data, updates the site plan and informs those concerned when progress is falling behind and maintains a constant check on materials and equipment delivery dates through the use of a bi-weekly look-a-head schedule.
Attends progress meetings and reports on the current situation and notes all changes in the forward plans and any restrictions on progress.
Records the works additional to the original requirements and all variations and revisions which must be incorporated in the site plan and informs the appropriate staff and subcontractors of any changes to their workload and any alterations to the targets previously set.
Reviews the existing material and equipment schedules and obtains updated delivery information from the relevant departments.
Collates work progress for each contract and each area and includes them in the weekly and monthly Site Reports.
Reviews and agrees with Subcontractors on programs, to ensure compatibility with project requirements.
Monitors the site progress and prepares weekly 'look ahead' to maintain objectives and agreed milestones.
ASSIGNMENTS
Prepare schedule, manpower, and quantity progress and performance reports.
Tracking progress by updating the project schedule on a regular basis to assess actual performance against the plan.
Assess impacts on the critical path and near-critical activities and report critical work activities to the project manager.
Monitor schedule deviations and variances and assist in developing alternative methods for corrective action.
Provide schedule-related recommendations to the project management team on strategies to recover from project delays.
Revise the approved baseline schedule only when a change order indicates a change in scope or duration.
At the completion of the project, assists in developing and recording the project’s historical schedule information and “lessons learned”, for use on future enterprise projects.
