Housing Division, UDA implements housing project for the public in
Colombo, Sri Lanka. Specially for low income families and for middle
income families. All projects are 15 to 25 storeys with different number
of dwellings. All the buildings are constructed with pile foundation and
both the conventional and system formworks are used for construction.

* Coordinate with Contractor since the initiation of the project

Deputy Project Director was responsible in developing a new township (New Laggala Town) for the people who
lose the Old Laggala town and their personal properties (Houses and Agricultural lands) which were in the
inundated area from the water Kaluganga reservoir. Construction of Government offices (Hospital, Main Bus
station, Schools and etc), road network, Play grounds, preparation of residential lands and paddy lands and
construction of small scale Tanks with earth banks and their structures (Sluices and Spillways) and the canal
network to deliver water to the paddies were among the list of duties.
