Pandora was a rapidly growing company and the department expanded from three to eight people within twelve months with me heading up the department. This allowed me to grow and develop within the business as well as add significant value to all the other departments, through my knowledge, skill set and implementation of procedures to ensure the department efficiently functioned and was dynamic enough to meet a variety of requests and changeable deadlines from HQ.
Key achievement was running the financial and operational reporting of a new project ‘own and operated stores’. This gave me a blank canvas to work with and I was able to put all my skill-set into practice to ensure that on a daily, weekly and monthly basis all stores were operating efficiently and that all management and financial information was available on request for both financial and non-financial minds. This was met with significant praise from the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive.

Trainee Accountant at Mills Group Ltd
  • United Kingdom

In this role I worked alongside the financial accountant on a daily basis and reported directly to the Group Accountant and the Finance Director of Mills Group Limited.

Alongside this I constructed and produced divisional budgets as well as the master budget of in excess £75 million for the Mills Group including analysis and reporting. I produced monthly cash books and cash flows for all individual companies (seven in total), and posted to Sage the individual company cash books. As a result I obtained a good working knowledge of Sage and Line 100.
I was also in charge of completing the weekly accounts for Trout Hotels, which form part of Mills Group, located in the Lake District, Cumbria.

Accounts Clerk at Mills Group Ltd
  • United Kingdom
  • September 2004 to August 2006

As an accounts clerk I am in charge of looking after the sales/stock accounts of eleven individual store branches (known as LineBush) on a weekly basis owned by Mills Group. As a result of liaising with store/area mangers, and with other members of my department on a daily basis, a high level of delegation, teamwork and communication is an essential part of the job. I have to ensure the weekly turnover of sales and stock figures is ready by the end of the week for the following week’s projections.
In order to efficiently complete the job to a high standard, flexibility is needed in order to meet weekly deadlines. I, therefore, can adapt well to different situations that may arise, and work under pressure with irregular work patterns if deemed necessary.
