Business Development Manager at Maersk Drilling
  • Denmark
  • My current job since November 2010

Assessments of marketing opportunities and target markets for potential new oil drilling services, intelligence gathering on customers and competitors, formal proposal writing and business model design.

Concept: MAERSK ARCTIC DRILLING CONCEPT, Copenhagen, Denmark
Scope: The concept consists on an offshore drilling infrastructure solution for the arctic supported by different business units across the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. Note: additional information about the concept is still confidential and cannot be described and/or discussed on detail at this stage. Current limited (general) available information can be found at: www.maersk.com/AboutMaersk/News/Pages/20110110-114827.aspx

Concept: SELF-ERECTING TENDER ASSISTED DRILLING CONCEPT, Copenhagen, Denmark
Scope: The concept consisted on the development of a drilling infrastructure solution to support future oil and gas developments on dry-wells located in new-built tension leg platforms (TLPs). The unit would be a tender rig, a deepwater drilling rig and a construction vessel to support surface/dry-tree drilling in “tender mode” and subsea/wet-tree in “semi submersible mode”. It would include a heavy-lift crane of 600t able to move the drilling package in modules to the TLPs. Both cementing and mud circulating systems would connect via hoses to the TLPs.

Concept: STATOIL MODU CAT D CONCEPT, Copenhagen, Denmark
Scope: The concept consisted on a “workhorse rig”, tailor-made for mid-water operations on existing mature fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The rig was equipped with DP class 2 & 3 systems in 100-500m water depth but also prepared for future deepwater and arctic operations. The business case was for approx 70-80% of the future planned drilling, completion and heavy intervention activities. The Goal was to perform 20% more efficient activities compared with the present rig fleet.

Finance & Accounting Migration Manager at Maersk Line
  • Denmark
  • August 2006 to September 2007

Migration (outsourcing/offshoring) of the Finance and Accounting processes from Damco (former Maersk Logistics) and Maersk Line to the Global Service Centers in India and China during the implementation of SAP.

The concept was developed as a project under the name “FACT” (Finance and Accounting for Container Transport) to replace the many different systems operating world-wide.

Through the preparation and execution of a solid project plan I migrated successfully -on just 13 months- all Finance and Accounting processes (on-time and on-budget) of the operations in Taiwan, Southeast Asia (including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) and China (including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xiamen).

This experience demanded extensive business travel, leadership, project management and helped me developing broad social/multicultural business skills.

Contrac & Tender Manager at Maersk Line
  • Costa Rica
  • June 2005 to August 2006

Centralized tender preparation, contract drafting, contract maintenance and contract filing at the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) for all Maersk Line’s global key accounts.

Our objective was to provide our services (tariffs & rates, service contracts, and rules & terms) timely and with consistent/high quality to our internal customers in Maersk Line around the world. As department head I managed a team of 45 employees subdivided in 3 shifts (morning, afternoon and night) to ensure consistent service 24/7 to cover all time zones.

As department leader I influenced and supported my team to achieve our strategic objectives.

During these 14 months I developed and implemented successfully standard procedures, error monitoring tools and lead the local implementation of MARS (standing for the corporate “Maersk Automated Rating System”).
