Responsible for the technical coordination and implementation of all AS&E cargo x-ray system programs within the Middle East region. The role required coordinating the workings of multi-faceted teams associated with allocated cargo x-ray programs; initiating, planning and directing program management processes, procedures and administration; applying best practice, problem resolution and communication skills to ensure successful program execution and customer satisfaction. In 2014 I successfully co-managed to completion a multi-million dollar integrated detection solution program for Abu Dhabi’s Customs Administration at the new Khalifa Port.
Responsible for the provision of training development solutions to Abu Dhabi’s Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA). The role required project financial management and budgeting along with planning, directing and coordinating the operations of project service teams, to ensure and improve the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of service team operations through the application of effective methods and strategies in support of the contracted Statement of Work. Additionally functioned as a subject matter expert in the training development disciplines of analysis, course design and validation.
Responsible for a team of specialists and administrators that provided training development solutions and consultancy to Abu Dhabi’s Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA). Duties included, but were not limited to, overseeing the establishment of a Training Management System, utilising a Systems Approach to Training (SAT) methodology, that included the design, development, programming and conduct of bespoke professional development training courses for the client. Responsibilities included functioning as the subject matter expert for the training development disciplines of analysis and course design.
Employed at a Vocational Education Development Centre with project management responsibility for coordinating and developing educational programmes, utilising a Systems Approach to Training (SAT) methodology, and for scheduling timetables for the delivery of a mixture of vocational, academic and life skills to male Emirati youths. Responsibilities included all training support functions and centre-wide administration operations with duties that encompassed line management for administration officers, development of the Quality Assurance processes, administrative practices and the Centre’s Management Information System.
Employed on a short, fixed-term contract at a training center delivering general EFL and ESP training programs to the Kuwait Oil company. Responsible for a team of specialists developing curriculum to achieve accreditation status with the University of London, UK
Employed by a UK training solutions provider, under a government-to-government contract, to provide Training Management Support to the Kuwait Naval Force. Responsibilities included course and curriculum design, in accordance with the principles and standards of a Systems Approach to Training (SAT), the identification of performance and learning outcomes and the production of all associated documentation
Employed by a UK government-funded vocational skills training provider operating throughout UK counties of Dorset and Somerset. Responsibilities included HR administration, office and training center facilities management, training management (including quality assurance), strategic planning and day-by-day operational organisation.
Joined the Royal Navy as a Marine Engineering Mechanic in 1974 and transferred to the Submarine Service in 1979 achieving, through career progression, the rank of Chief Petty Officer with responsibility for Marine Engineering Department manpower, plant operation, mechanical/electrical plant maintenance schedules, logistical support, on-board servicing/repair, training of personnel and vessel refit/overhaul project management.
During the final quarter of operational service was primarily employed within the training environment until being specially selected to join the Naval Recruiting Service in 1997. There followed a period as a Career Advisor until retirement from the Royal Navy in 2001, after 27 years continuous military service.
