In Epassport project we are trying to have the same information saved in the regular passport but with adding a new biometric property, and we satisfied this by adding the fingerprint..We used the smart card as a Passport and Smart Card Reader with Fingerprint Scanner and wrote the code that reads, writes and updates from the smart card and configures the fingerprint.
