Responsibility Overview/Outline

Director responsible for the management, growth and expansion of the 5 countries. Responsibilities,
supervision and management include the following:

• Tendering and pricing, including Pre-qualification.
• Managing Quantity Surveyors, Project managers and all other sundry staff.
• Tender and negotiation meetings.
• Project implementation, commencement and completion.
• Effective cost management, supervision of management staff, Client/Consultant meetings and Board

of Directors reports and meeting.
• Risk Management.
• Operational Management.
• Health & Safety
• Ensuring all Operational management.
• Executive reporting.
• Staff appointments, KPI’s and development.
• New Business Development.

Key responsibilities
• Project Control & Management:

a) Prequalification, Commercial pricing of all tenders private and or Governmental.
b) Negotiation with Clients and or Role Players.
c) Cost effective Project planning with Project Mangers, Contract Manager and sundry supervisory staff.
d) Project implementation at commencement including plant and equipment and staff mobilization.
e) Technical planning, Architectural, Structural and MEP Coordination.
f) Supervisory role in Cost implementation in CCS, and cost management during the contract works.
g) Contractual claims, notifications and or EOT.
h) Site visits to all countries for Progress and or Technical meetings.
i) Effective Client/consultant liaison.
j) Contract finalization at Practical Completion and Works Completion.
k) Management of approximately projects ranging from 3 Million USD to Million USD.

• Financial Management:

a) Ensure proper cost and directors report meetings monthly.
b) Full financial management of the contract.
c) Value engineering and or cost saving measures.
d) Overseeing the procurement process and appointment of relevant specialized sub-contractors,

payment and contractual terms.
e) Financial reporting to Board of Directors and Shareholders.

• Executive Role:

a) Executive meetings with all senior project staff on monthly basis in all countries.
b) Cost and financial report meeting with Project staff.
c) Ensure efficient collaborative key partnerships with business leaders, Construction professionals.
d) Executive meeting with all the various divisions, Infrastructure, building and internal divisions.
e) Monthly executive meeting with MD and shareholders.
f) Board meetings and report back on Roko Projects.
g) Compliance off all role player/staff to Company Standards and Code of Conduct.
h) Company Financial review, Management accounts up to final Audited accounts for all countries.
i) Liaison with Financial Institutions as required.
j) Company and Group Financial planning and strategy meetings with BOD.

• New Business Development:

a) New Business development in all the respective countries.
b) Identifying new Construction business opportunities over the whole spectrum.

Oil and Gas in Uganda
Oil and Gas Pipeline new works in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.
Road and infrastructure new works development in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.
All new business development in Kenya and Burundi.


Key achievements/projects

• Main achievement - Substantially increasing the Turn-over of Roko Uganda and Rwanda by over 60
Million USD per year from to present.

• Increasing the profitability percentage in all the countries.
• Diversifying Roko Construction into more sustainable infrastructure projects including successful


• Effectively introducing Financial systems (CCS, Buildsmart and others) to optimise profitability as well

as cost control measure.

i) Procurement of Client supplied items from the relevant countries abroad.
j) Cost and progress meetings with Client.
k) Overall budget control and final financial report.
l) Issuing monthly Interim Payment certificates to main contractor and sub-contractors.
m) Issuing of required contractual (after adjudication) EOT and or other required notices.
n) Mediation hearings if required.
o) Final completion certificates both PC and WC.
p) Snag and defects inspections and sign-off.
q) Finalization report, both financially and project specific and Final account sign-off with Main

Contractor.
