Our Engineering Consultants are the hands-on technical team that strive to deliver service excellence. • Provide engineering consultancy advice on electrical projects i.e.
o Commissioning and start-up;

Senior Superintendent Construction and Commissioning - Commissioning Manager (Wheatstone) - QA and Isolations Manager (Roy Hill)
Commissioning start-up of Wheatstone LNG temporary power generation, desalination instrumentation and HV/LV power substations as per CSU scope. Construction and commissioning start-up of Roy Hill HV/LV power substations. Liaising with clients, discussing job details, requirements, time lines, dates and day-to-day business impact that the job would have before and after. Generate quotations, forward quotations to clients, client liaison regarding quotations as and when required and on an as needs basis. Create jobs to reflect on the database (FM). Job planning using Microsoft Project, Oracle, Word and Excel. Project Management: Provide overall supervision & leadership to superintendents, supervisors, leading hands and trades personnel working within the commissioning team.

Project Supervisor (Started out as Site Supervisor and was promoted to Electrical Estimator and then to Project Supervisor)
Decommissioning, installation of electrical equipment, maintenance, estimating, project supervision, project coordination, project management, planning and scheduling on the Western Power high voltage and low voltage networks. Maintenance of client assets as per required maintenance schedule, power line upgrades (removal of used by date equipment and replaced with new). Pole to pillar network installations, integrity testing of installations, new distribution line installation. Estimating of scoped work, fault repairs where and when required.
1. Site Supervisor - Jun-09 to Aug-09
• In charge of Overhead line team (linesmen, crane drivers, trainees and TA’s) and equipment;
• Receiving Job packs;
• Ensure material is available as required and complete job safely as per Western Power specifications and regulations;
• On completion ensure data sheets, audits are completed and handed in with job packs;
• Ensure that vehicles and equipment are tested at regular intervals;
• Job completion to scope of works;
• All jobs were completed safely and in target time given;
• No injuries occurred.
2. Electrical Estimator - Aug-09 to Nov-09
A business need - The Company required an extra Estimator in the department, I was asked to fill in this role as I have a keen eye and attention to detail, coupled with my previous experience and was thus transferred from a Site Supervisor role into an Electrical Estimator role which entailed the following:
• Receiving of estimating requests from Western Power
• Compile and complete tender to Mainstream client (Western Power)
• Analyse needs, environnemental issues, ressources, sub-contractors etc.
• Requests for sub-contractor quotes • Submitting quotes • Calculation of man / plant hours.
• Earthing and installation requirements. • Ensure all aspects of estimate is covered, scoped and accurate
• Obtain all scope information through GIS
3. Project Supervisor - Nov-09 to Mar-10 (WA closure)
According to Company needs / requirements I was once again “promoted” into the role of Project Supervisor where I was in charge of 3 Overhead line teams consisting of 23 members as well as a Planner and equipment. This entailed the following:
• Project management, planning and scheduling, risk analysis and assessments / management.
• Ensure projects are conducted in accordance with contractual terms to mitigate my employers’ risk and exposure.
• Ensure a cooperative and effective working relationship with the works delivery team.
• Ensure assets are built as per agreed plans, budgets, standards and processes.
• Provide contractor management and deliver contractor performance that is aligned with performance objectives.
• Undertake QA checks as required on a regular basis to ensure a product delivery as per Stakeholder scope.
• Receiving Job packs and ensuring material is available as required.
• Discuss job with Site Supervisor and complete job safely as per Western Power specifications and regulations.
• On completion ensure data sheets, As-builds, audits are completed and handed in with job packs, sign off job packs and close them off.
• Ensure that vehicles and equipment are tested at regular intervals
• All jobs were completed safely and in target time given with no injuries.
Project Management, coordinating and performing maintenance on all Substations (Relays, switchgear, HV cables, LV cables, Current transformers, Voltage transformers, Tap-changers, Surge arrestors, Switchboards, Battery Banks, Line Traps, Capacitor banks, SF6 Circuit breakers, Air blast Circuit breakers, Oil Filled Circuit breakers, Vacuum Circuit breakers, Disconnectors, Overhead transmission lines, ITR’s, ITP’s, Commissioning plans etc.) System voltages for this contract: 66KV, 132KV and 220KV.
During my time with UGL in Hamilton New Zealand my role comprised of, but was not limited to:
• Maintenance testing on high voltage and low voltage equipment at network substations;
• Electrical Mechanical Maintenance, Fault Finding and Cable Jointing;
• Supervision and Contracts / Project Management, Budget Control and Financials, Auditing, Material requisition;
• Risk analysis and assessments / management;
• Decommissioning, installation of electrical equipment, maintenance, estimating, project supervision, project coordination, project management, planning and scheduling.
Contracts and Project Management, coordinating and performing the multimillion-dollar streetlight project upgrade in Hamilton city, Ngaruwahia and Huntly. Work on the Transpower project included installation of new overhead lines to clients as per client specifications. Attend to breakdowns where and when required as per client contract. Maintenance of client assets as per required maintenance schedule (Line patrol, populated work schedule, schedule dates/ tasks to work groups, acquire materials, notify downstream clients if affected, perform tasks including Isolation, testing for dead and earthing the equipment, re-instated equipment back to normal operational state on completion and report back to Asset owner upon completion. System voltages for this contract: 11KV, 22KV & 33KV.
During my time with Electrix in Hamilton New Zealand my role comprised of, but was not limited to:
• Maintenance testing and installation on high voltage and low voltage network equipment for WEL Networks;
• Electrical Mechanical Maintenance, Fault Finding and Cable Jointing;
• Supervision and Contracts / Project Management.
• Risk analysis and assessments / management.
Millwright
During my time with Rehau in East London South Africa my role comprised of, but was not limited to:
• Electrical Mechanical Maintenance on a rotational maintenance schedule;
• Fault Finding, Repairs, Fitting and Turning, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, PLC’s, Starters and Motors, High Tension Switching and Maintenance on all switchgear;
• Transformer Maintenance and performing all aspects of factory maintenance as required keeping plant running as cost effective and efficient as required.

System Controller
Operation of SCADA system - (monitoring of all sub-station and protection equipment). Monitoring of Port Elizabeth loads and regulating according to demand with SCADA. The issue of switching instructions when needed on work request or under fault conditions. Updating of data system with loading call outs, fault reports and acknowledgement of all work done. Supervision of ± 60 staff. Updating of mimic board and all diagrams with all alterations done to system. Controlling of all overtime worked. Area ± 110, 000 km² consisting of 2 Cities and 36 Towns, Port Elizabeth and East London (City) population ± 2, 000, 000, 000 and Domestic Customers ± 780, 000. Sub Stations 100KVA - 160 MVA ± 12, 000 Total. Voltages 220 V, 380 V, 6.6 KV, 11 KV, 22KV, 33KV, 66KV 132kv and 220KV.
Factory / Foundry Maintenance, Fault-finding and Repairs (Electrical and Mechanical) for Aberdare Telecommunications and Bridgestone Firestone.
Olifantsfontein (Red Seal) Trade tested Electrician with Eskom in the Distribution Field.
High Voltage work, exposed to all aspects of the trade including System Control, circuit breakers, fault finding and repairs, PLC’s, hydraulics and pneumatics, gearboxes, AC/DC drives, high voltage regulations, transformer maintenance, Circuit breaker maintenance, Disconnectors and Substation maintenance (Sub Stations 100KVA - 160 MVA ± 12, 000 Total. Voltages 220 V, 380 V, 6.6 KV, 11 KV, 22KV, 33KV, 66KV, 132KV, 220KV and 400KV), Live line exposure and line erection, extensive experience gained on Allan Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi and SCADA. Hands on experience with Distribution and conducting maintenance/construction on the HV system.
