General Manager, Feb 2020 to Present.
I lead all three verticals of the Furniture business (Retail, B2B and Manufacturing) with direct reporting of all 3-business unit directors, finance director, supply chain head and HR.
Retail: Hybrid business model with a blend of branded/franchise stores and non-branded furniture stores. Currently 11 stores across the Kingdom with 200k sqft of retail Area.
B2B: Almutlaq Furniture is one of the key players in the turnkey project business in the area of Hospitality, Residential, Office and Education
Manufacturing: Furniture manufacturer, supplying to market through the Retail and Project channels

Selected Accomplishments in Almutlaq Group:

• Lack of strategic direction: Created a strategic approach to assist businesses in achieving sustainable growth. Defined Vision, mission and Business objective.
• Inefficient organisation: Created well-defined governance model and modus operandi, invested in human capital, skillset and workforce to achieve competitive advantage on best practices at par with best industry practices.
• Inefficient operations: Company was struggling with increasing complexity in all three businesses; it put fundamentals in place with the help of external consultants by deep diving into all processes SOP’S and aligning them with the current needs of the business.
• Challenging Financial performance: Stopped bleeding of Retail business, eroding profits of other two divisions.
• No digital presence: Created Omnichannel division and launched an eCommerce business.

Successfully launched four international Brands in the Indian market and facilitated Jawad business group to set up India operations.

 I opened 55 stores over four years to establish a strong presence of the Jawad group across Indian geography.
 Played a vital role in building key function departments and building the team as a pooled resource for Food and Fashion business in India. These departments included Finance, Marketing, HR, Planning, Sourcing, Brand Management and Logistics.
 Build profitable business by placing brands in suitable real estate with favourable rent deals.

 I improved division profitability by 1.5% and overall growth of 13% for GCC business for 110 stores by implementing an effective revenue management process and bringing down the markdown cost.
