• Managing sections of audits ADAA undertakes on subject entities and submitting the work done to the manager (principal). I have taken a major part in the financial audit of large financial institutions.
• Managing financial examinations in the field of a variety of ADAA subject entities including international entities.
• Directing and supervising junior staff when conducting financial examinations.
The core daily tasks of my role at ADAA entail the following:
• Writing and compiling audit reports in English and Arabic and submitting them to the audit engagement manager (principal).
• Reviewing corporate governance issues within ADAA subject entities along with ensuring compliance with government budgeting requirements.
In addition to the tasks above I have also done the following:
• Represented ADAA on the audit committee of a subject entity.
• Taken part in appointing ADAA’s external auditor with a primary focus on the technical evaluation of various auditors bids.
• Member of the team designated by the ADAA Chairman to update internal financial policies and procedures.
• Presented ADAA reports to audit committees of subject entities.
• Member of the ADAA publications team that publishes a monthly newsletter with accounting updates.
My role was to review financial audit sections of various ADAA subject entities.
Furthermore, I worked as a seconded employee at the international audit firm Deloitte & Touché:
I have been through three secondment assignments with Deloitte & Touché in Abu Dhabi. Each period of secondment lasted for 5 months where I worked as an external auditor. I have worked on the external audits of entities such as ADNOC, EMAL, Dolphin Energy and the Urban Planning Council amongst others.
