Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives;
Setting out, leveling and surveying the site;
checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;
Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications;
Able to control manpower, and manpower distribution among different activities.
Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant;
Agreeing a price for materials, and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project;
Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect;
liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, Supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;
Liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws;
Liaising with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including Attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress;
Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors;
Planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines;
Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site;
Preparing reports as required;
resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
To watch and inspect the construction and assure that it is done in full accordance with the plans and specifications.
Review and approve Shop Drawings of equipment to be installed to assure the equipment meets or exceeds the specifications (often done with the Project Manager).
Meet with the General Contractor to keep the project on time and on budget.
Review and approve (or reject) Change Orders (often done with the Project Manager.

Education
The prime responsibility is to ensure that the set standards are meeting perfectly on the construction site constantly.
To verify the qualifications of the workers and provide them proper training if necessary.
Provide direction to all contractors and supervise them when needed.
Make sure to work on the designs as well needs to plan, coordinate, recommend and implement the construction designs.
Planning as well as to formulate the construction as well as maintenance plan.
Maintain the coordination with the supervisors in the construction site in order to determine the working priorities.
Negotiate with contracting companies to get sufficient equipment and personnel necessary to complete the construction work in good time
Evaluate staff effectiveness in all areas.
Develop staff duty schedule.
Keep necessary records and inventories.
If temporarily absent from site, designate a staff member as temporary supervisor for length of absence.
