Job Summary:
Utilize the nursing process as a basic for professional practice.
Responsible for curative, palliative, rehabilitative and treatment aspects as foundation of health care service. Plans and implements other health activities to include health education and preventive program as well.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as the frontline health service provider in Emergency room
Implementing Independent and Dependent nursing care
Monitors vital signs, collects and records data of patients, takes history and chief complaints of patients.
Sets up treatment trays.
Ensures sterility of working place, instruments and gadgets.
Accomplishes requests for laboratory and other procedures.
Ensures the privacy, comfort and safety of patients during examinations and treatments.
Inserts intravenous fluids and administers medicines as prescribed/ordered by the physician.
Dresses wounds, removes stitches.
Inserts nasogastric tubes, and indwelling catheters
Changes colostomy bags
Assists in minor surgical operations
Accompanies/orients patients to other health facilities.
