• Delivery of IT qualification according to COE curriculum.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of development in the relevant subject/course.
• To contribute to curriculum and resource development including assessment projects,
schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment rubrics and teaching and learning material.
• Participate in Quality Assurance practices, including Internal Verification and course file
audits in preparation for external verification and inspection visits.
• Ensure that teaching meets the needs of all students, including the effective
management of behavior.
• To create a positive teaching and learning environment, which fosters a culture of

• To be responsible for assessing, recording and reporting on student development and
progress, including GPA scores.
• Give timely feedback on student work to allow students to make improvements in line
with individual targets.
• Identify students who are underachieving in the subject, apply early intervention for
students at risk, create plans of action with target setting at key points in the year, support
trainees in developing and maintaining Individual Learning Plans.
• To monitor student attendance and achievement, taking appropriate action as required.
• To liaise with parents/guardians to report on trainee progress.
• To foster employment skills and promote employability throughout the curriculum.
• To contribute to the course and team planning review processes and attend regular
team meetings for curriculum review and development.
• Work closely with colleagues within the Faculty and across college to respond to the
needs of students.
• Participate in continuous professional development opportunities with the view to
improve teaching practice.
