Oversee all aspects of the film distribution process for MAJID AL FUTTAIM CINEMAS (trading as VOX CINEMAS) for theatrical releases including contracts negotiation & verification, distribution rights, censorship, booking, Content, KDM orders and logistics, government approvals, coordination between different stakeholders and schedule management.
Working closely with Finance to provide the theatrical releases expense reports.
Monitor and investigate when issues occur to secure compliance in every Film-related process according to the applicable legislations insuring high-value items are handled in a timely manner.
Emirates
Support the end-to-end delivery of 20th-century films to cinemas:
• Oversee the Arabic subtitle approval process (for features and trailers) -
with special attention paid to how R-rated content is handled.
• Coordinate the ordering, shipping, receipt, site allocation and dispatch of
all trailers and POS materials for theatrical releases in the region of the
operation.
• Coordinate efforts with the 20th-century studio, vendor and freight
forwarders and cinemas to support the end-to-end delivery of our feature
films to cinemas, including Ordering all correct versions and formats of
films as per the Release strategy for each film title.
• Manage the editing process with the studio/vendor, to ensure we utilize
the appropriate editing methods to retain as much of the film as possible
whilst removing necessary dialogue/picture from the film per each censor
board's requests which directly support a higher ATB and GBO.
• Monitor and investigate when issues occur to secure compliance in
every Film-related process according to the applicable legislations
insuring high-value items are handled in a timely manner.
• Ordering all the correct versions and formats of films (IMAX, 2D/3D,
Dolby Cinema, etc.) as per the Release strategy for each title, using the
appropriate system and contacts at the studio and digital cinema vendor.
• Order all KDMs per the booking requirements.
• Ensure to keep records of cinema servers and technical capabilities
remain up-to-date.
• Book and manage security operatives as required for advance
screenings.
• Attend censor screenings in the UAE and Oman to support the
censorship process by working closely with the UAE censor committee
and making sure that subtitles are well checked according to our market
standard avoiding any hard or poor cuts to deliver a high-quality film that
attracts exhibitors which leads to high revenue.
• Maintain and build business relationships with UAE ministries.
Logistics and Distribution:
• Establish standard operating procedures that are compliant with Majid
Al Futtaim processes and policies.
• Support the negotiation of shipping rates & contracts with a third-party
provider for Inbound, Outbound & Storage to ensure the service level
expectations are fulfilled.
• Obtain permits for all import and export of goods from Government
Authorities (NMC, ministry of economy, Dubai Chamber, etc.).
• Review shipping documents for accurate product descriptions,
appropriate tariff classifications (HS Codes) and ensure regulatory
requirements are met for import/export of goods.
• Shipment preparation: (creating invoices, allocation list, delivery
guidelines, shipping Notification to all exhibitors).
• Creating a distribution list for film materials (Standees and Posters).
• Packing of all materials to be ready for shipping.
• Update internal tracking documents for POS/trailer orders, Follow up on
delivery update (POD).
• Liaising with Dubai Chamber for freight permit applications for all
material shipments outside the UAE.
• Continuously looking for a better shipping cost and abetter delivery
method.
• Manage running inventory of DCPs, ensuring all drives are shipped back
to London once the film is out of cinemas.
• Validate the Security and shipping contracts and invoices to ensure the
contracted rates are reflecting in the invoices accurately to ensure the
expected service/shipment is delivered against the cost.
• Provide Weekly reports (shipping, Security Cost and Materials Approvals
trackers) to line manager, to enable corrective actions as appropriate and
to illustrate the effectiveness of the department's process and
compliance with agreed standards.
Sales and Distribution:
Monitor competitive release date changes, updating the studio via their
online system and/email as required.
Assisting the team with Exhibitor booking confirmations, as required.
Responsible for registration of licensed titles with Government Bodies
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Ministry of Economy / National Media
Council).
Manly handling special country's (war zones / difficult customs rules /
bad addresses and difficult cultures Such as (Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, KSA).

(Operational Support) making sure to support the Logistics team to
ensure efficient workflow, double-check on shipping addresses to avoid
delivery exceptions & delays.

An immediate accomplishment of successful Shipping support with
minimum errors.

Successful address correction from Arabic to English immediate and
accurate Support for executing/picking/packing shipping when required.
•
Stock Monitoring and Staking in Warehouse to Make sure the accuracy
of the stocks.

Supporting In requested Refund and replacement Cases.•
Follow up with the leaders in Iraq & KSA & Lebanon In WhatsApp groups
and direct calls to resolve IRS urgent problems Liaison & Follow Up
closely with couriers daily for Undelivered Shipments.
