• Be responsible for the on-going review and monitoring of risks identified within the Location Hazard Assessment, Aspects & Impacts & Project Risk registers in FLAG; ensuring they have suitable and appropriate controls & mitigations in place.
• Aid & coach the crew on the development of Task Risk Assessments and other risk management tools where required
• Participate in Toolbox Talks & Last-Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA) providing input for related hazard controls where required.
• Conduct spot checks on permitted work activities to verify requirements are met for these activities.
• Assess & monitor ergonomics, HAVS & permissible occupational health exposure limits in the work environment.
• Review chemical storage and handling on the crew and aid in carrying out Area Assessments and Task Hazardous Substance Assessments (THSA’s)
• Verify that preventative maintenance is conducted in accordance with defined schedules
• Verify competency of personnel and ensure Short Service Employees are inducted, trained, mentored and tracked.
• Provide inspections on personal protective equipment used & verify its correct use.
• Maintain on-board QHSSE noticeboards. Poster campaigns, safety / PPE signage on the crew.
• Verify compliance with the Ghantoot Business Management System by conducting inspections of the worksite and reporting all Non-Conformities identified.
• Execute QHSSE responsibilities as defined in the Business Management System manuals & procedures.
• Continually analyse the work environment to ensure a safe workplace and be designated as the health and safety representative on the crew
