Provide professional and technical advice to department management and section manager, and to other members within section/department. Also, conduct technical studies aiming to develop the work of the section/department.
Supervise, manage (as appropriate), and coordinate the processes of Strategic and Operational Planning in the department; including participation in the development and review of the organization strategic plan, and development and follow up of the department operational plan and related KPIs.
Supervise the Business Process Management in the department, including studying and documenting the AS IS and TO BE work methods, processes, and procedures, and suggest the amendments and improvements required to increase the efficiency, and ensure their execution after approval.
Supervise, manage and follow up the automation of business processes on department and section levels through the projects of developing IT applications and E-Services, in coordination with the information technology department and the concerned parties, and ensure their efficiency in improving productivity.
Submit technical, specialized, and progress reports about the section/department projects, activities, achievements, obstacles and difficulties and the practical suggestions for the improvement and development of work.
Review the audit reports, and make suggestions and recommendations to handle the problems, overcome difficulties and improve the work, and also submit them to section manager or department director.
Provide specialized and technical coaching, training, and support to the staff of the section and department.
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position when appropriate.
Plan and implement purchasing and material management strategy and activities consistent with overall aims and requirements of the organization.
Manages the purchasing and inventory control functions and the necessary documentation and on line forms for the efficient, cost-effective and lawful execution of all import activities.
Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Managing the MSDS and TDS for all the materials and Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies.
Reporting directly to the GM for all aspects especially the slow and non-moving items, and following up the recommended actions.
Analyis the buyer recommendations of the ERP system making the necessary adjustments and Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments through the ERP system.
Manage all staff reporting to the position so as to effectively recruit, train, evaluate, motivate, delegate and monitor their activities.
• To develop and manage the implementation of the departmental annual plan e.g. programs, initiatives, projects etc.
• To develop and implement new departmental policies and procedures (or enhancement to existing policies and procedures) in accordance to GAM’s requirements.
• To lead the implementation of Oracle Inventory and Warehouses management modules in GAM warehouse.
• To provide ongoing guidance and motivation to the Department’s staff in carrying out their roles and responsibilities. This includes delegation of work, conducting performance reviews and overseeing the training and development needs of the Department’s staff.
• To build and maintain cross-sector, directorate and/or departmental interactions.
• To develop inventory system and procedures.
• To oversee the distribution and management of commonly-used materials and ensure materials are distributed on a timely basis. This includes issuing job assignments and reviewing work orders and invoices.
• To manage central storage system and provide GAM-wide policies on warehousing practices. This including advising other GAM departments on warehouse practices.
• To review inventory circulation system to improve effectiveness in the areas of shipping, receiving and vehicle movement. This includes re-evaluating truck delivery and service vehicle routes.
• To direct the implementation of health and safety programs and procedures in the warehouses and ensure compliance.
• Adequately implement approved material planning strategy.
• Interprets material demands from sales orders, master schedule and forecast.
• Assisting and overseeing set-up and execution of overall logistics activities
• Review materials accounting systems and material management system
• Manage all aspects of material planning including employees, inventory, and product lines.
• Prepare, execute, report performance to budgets.
• Develop and implement material planning management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Administrate, coordinate and cooperatively work with other departments to resolve all issues relevant to the material planning.
• Research and implement opportunities to reduce product cost and inventory investments.
• Represent the material planning department in project meetings and provide input / support to meet program.
• Execute specific problem resolution actions in coordination with other departments.
-Analyzing, understanding, and documenting business needs and processes from various business perspectives related to ERP Suite functions.
-Requires working with the business owners to understand their requirements, define scope, re-engineer current business process, perform requirement gathering and analysis, gap analysis of current practices, identifying and mitigating risk.
-Facilitates communication within the team and to external teams.
-Training for the users on the ERP system manufacturing side (sales, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory)
-This role includes developing and cultivating strong relationships with business owners, as well as coordinating resource management and planning with multiple internal departments and with third party vendors.
-Managing and Following up the implementation process making the necessary enhancements.
