- Work with the Founder of a Hospitality Startup in developing internal processes for procurement, raw material consumption & inventory management and cash management.
- Develop detailed financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate growth opportunities and ROI analysis for expansion across UAE and India. Identified two new revenue segments contributing 35% of annual revenue.
- Execute product-wise revenue analysis to periodically ascertain the profitable product portfolio in addition to product costing to assess optimum pricing levels.

Project Viability Studies
- Evaluated the feasibility for expansion of the pipe and tube plants by estimating market size of the industry, understanding the demand opportunities within Nigeria, preparation of business plan, including financial forecasts, NPV, IRR, Payback period, Scenario analysis, in addition to creating a funding plan.
- Evaluated the feasibility of blending industrial lubricants to be blended in-house or to be outsourced locally with the aim of replacing the existing model of importing these lubricants.
- Evaluated and managed the ongoing expansion of the Group’s Refined Lead operations to double in capacity from current 650 MT per month.
Business Development
- Was actively engaged in Business Development for the Group’s Refined Lead business generating revenues of $1.3 Mn during first half of FY2016 by consistently negotiating a premium of $10/MT above the benchmark London Metal Exchange (LME) price.
- Led Business Development initiatives for the Refractory & Ceramics business unit and had roped in buyers contributing to 30% of the sales volume per month for their steel making consumables and Ferro alloys requirement.
Operations & Process Optimization
- Responsible for setting up measurement systems across the Group’s steel operations. Identified process gaps which helped to achieve a 15% increase in steel melting production.
- Daily review of production with Production and Quality Control teams to ensure optimum productivity and steel chemistry.
- Responsible for analyzing and reporting to Shareholders, the profitability, working capital cycle and optimal product mix across the Group’s product offerings (Rebars, Refractories & Ceramics and Non Ferrous exports) across West Africa.
Strategy & Operations
- Worked directly with the CEO to manage c. $100 Mn metals business across West Africa, India and Dubai.
- Identified value drivers and provided strategic business inputs to the CEO based on detailed financial analysis.
- Was responsible for managing the progress of capital expenditure and financing at the Company’s West African facilities.
- Performed profitability, working capital and cash flows analyses and recommended appropriate action to various HODs.
- Negotiated and finalized share-purchase and share-holding agreements with equity investors along with providing regular information on the operations of the Company to them.
Project Viability Study
- Performed feasibility analysis for new products (welded mesh, quarter rods, etc.) to augment the existing product mix by estimating market size of the industry, understanding the demand opportunities and preparation of business plan.
- Tested and implemented new Credit Standards with customers across the Philippines, with the Credit team.
- Actively managed a team of 5 junior analysts working towards a zero paper work environment by migrating key Treasury processes such as credit override notices, bounced checks and credit limits to an electronic platform.
- Assisted in their ongoing $350 Mn fund raising process for their capital expenditure activities by coordinating with bankers.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Conducted comprehensive due diligence for a downstream steel unit in Egypt with estimated deal value of around $240 Mn and prepared a detailed operations and DCF financial model based on which the Target was valued, and presented my recommendations to the Group Investment Committee.
- Evaluated 20 steel acquisition opportunities in South-East Asia, Middle East & North Africa and Europe.
- Conducted financial modeling, scenario analysis, valuation analysis, business due diligence, supported finance, tax and legal diligence and managed external advisor engagement for international industrials, energy and resources conglomerate.
- Performed regular relative valuation metrics analysis across Steel, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Shipping & Logistics sectors.
- Finalized term sheets and definitive agreements and coordinated transaction closure activities.
Fund raising
- Part of the central team involved in drafting the Offering Memorandum (OM) for a fund raising activity to the tune of $1 Bn for Essar Steel in the international high yield bond market.
Investor Relations
- Part of the core team to initiate research coverage on one of Essar’s listed entities, AGC Networks. Helped build the financial model and liaised with the research houses in drafting and publishing the reports.
- Monitored operational changes with company management and developed investor relations messages based on these changes.
- Organized and coordinated conferences, analyst meetings, road shows, earnings conference calls and investor meetings.
- Analyzed movement of finished goods and prepared analytical reports relating to stock movement. Assisted the management through my reports to determine production levels.
- Tracked the European Performance Materials market and Published a research service on the 'Western European Wood Coatings Industry' and also published a Market Insight on the 'Challenges in the Western European Wood Coatings Industry'.
- Was a Portfolio Manager for a Philippines based Endowment Fund working on benchmarking and analysis of asset allocation. - Part of the core committee of the Finance Club of AIM. Helped organize talks and activities to generate interest in finance amongst my peers. - Interned with Philip Morris, Philippines in their Treasury Department.
- Member of FORESE (Forum for Economic Studies by Engineers) and Rotaract Club in college. Participated in and won various quiz competitions at school and college level.
