Block 60 in Sultanate of Oman
ENERFLEX Role: Construction and commission of entire plant including
Contract: Saudi Electrical Company Power Project, PP12, in
Dhuruma, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Description: PP12 was a 2000MW Combined Cycle Power Project for
Saudi Electrical Company (SEC).
Parsons Brinckerhoff Role:
Parsons Brinckerhoff was the owners engineer (Saudi
Electrical Company) for construction and commission of
the entire plant.
My Responsibility: Senior Electrical Engineer for:
● Design Review.
● Providing technical interpretation of engineering
documents as appropriate.
● Reviewing required interface documentation between
design and construction, review engineering information
to ensure delivery in accordance with construction
schedule and cost control requirements.
● Participating in regular design reviews with Contractor
senior management and Client.
● Coordinating, controlling and reviewing engineering
documentation.
● Ensuring field compliance with approved engineering
drawings and specifications.

Plant
Description: Maura Karang Combined Cycle Plant was a contract
between Sumitomo Trading Corporation and Indonesia
State Electricity Company (PLN) for the construction of
250MW "Add On" Combined Cycle Plant and 150 kV
Substation extension.
Responsibility : Construction and Commissioning Engineer for:
Installation of Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear
(6.3kV and 380V) and Transformers
Commissioning of 6.3kV, 380V Switchgear and
Transformers as well as associated protection relays.
Energization & Operation of MV / LV Switchgear
Tambak Lorok (Indonesia) 3 x 100MW Simple Cycle
Power Plant
General : Tambak Lorok (Indonesia) 3 x 100MW, Power Plant was
a turnkey Contract between Sumitomo Japan and PLN
(State Electricity Co.). For Construction of Power Plant
consisting of 3 x 100MW Frame 9E GTG's, 2 x 21000
HSD Tanks, H2 Plant, 150kV Sub-Station and all related
equipment. The plant was completed November 1993.
Sub-Contractors to Sumitomo included Hazama (Japan),
Toshiba (Japan), General electric (U.S.A.) and E.S.B.I
(Ireland).
ESBI Role: Conceptual Design of power plant

Switchgear, Standby Generator, Over Head Line
Diversion. Interfacing with 150kV Switchgear and Gas
Turbine Generators, with Existing 150kV Sub-Station.
Construction/Commissioning of SCADA in HV
Substations, Water, Waste Water Treatment plants,
Sewage station & Gas/Oil stations
Resident Engineer for Sumitomo during Warranty Period:
Inspection and Testing of all Major Electrical Equipment
during First Inspection at End of Warranty.
Generation and Sub-Station Construction of various
Projects for Electricity Directorate Bahrain.
Contracts were for equipment ranging from 11kV to
220kV, including installation / commissioning of High
Voltage Cables ie. Oil Filled, Gas Filled, XLPE.
Substations were 33/11KV 66/11kV, 132/66kV,
220/66kV indoor/outdoor type gas insulated switchgear
(G.I.S.). Installation of Scada / DCS on New / Existing
Equipment.
Responsibility: Construction / Commissioning Engineer for:
Commissioning of Switchgear, Transformers
High Voltage Cables up to 220kV.
Commissioning of Scada / DCS Equipment on Existing
New Sub-stations including Remote Control Center.
Maintenance of Equipment during Warranty Period
including First Inspection.
Energizing of Sub-stations after initial Testing /
Commissioning Works. Warranty responsibilities.
Liaise with Consultants / Contractors in all aspects of
Construction/Commissioning.
SCADA - Installation/commissioning of SCADA in ALL
HV Substations, Power Plants, Water Treatment Plants,
Gas & Oil Stations.
General : ESBI is the State Electricity Co. of Ireland.
During my tenure with ESBI, I attended College from
Construction and Commissioning of New Sub-Stations.
Extensions to existing ones, including maintenance of
Voltage levels up to 220kV.Testing / Commissioning of
High Voltage Cables from 10kV - 220kV including fault
finding, repair and re-commissioning.
