• Delivering and effectively instructing the American Language Course (ALC) Curriculum and contributing to the successful pass rate of cadets in order for their follow-on instruction in the US.
• Preparing culturally sensitive and military related teaching materials.
• Designing supplementary General English material to help cadets with their daily life in America.
• Diagnosing IMS language proficiency constraints; planning and providing remedial training classes and counselling IMSs on their academic progress.
• Acting as assistant to the Learning Resource Specialist at the Learning Resource Centre (LRC): organising and scheduling cadet workshops, orienting English Language Instructors (ELI) to relevant in-house E-learning program like ISpring, co-ordinating and preparing by IMS level (group and individual basis) activities like interactive games namely KAHOOT!, scheduling of classes and the delegation of level specific books (with audio) on an individual cadet basis to further facilitate receptive skills.
• Supervising and managing the after class remedial programme, SLT. Providing daily scores and feedback to IMS tutors through Cadet Progress Report (CPR) feedback.
• Partaking in regular staff meetings, professional development workshops and all necessary administrative duties.
• Proctoring/ invigilating bi-weekly examinations.
• Taking initiative and having sole accountability for intricately planning and executing the File Migration process that involves seventy ELI’s and five-hundred IMS at the end of each book-cycle.
Pre-sessional Work in the summer months to predominantly Chinese students. Prepping them for studies in English before they undertake their under/post-graduate studies in business, accounts and finance with the aim of raising their IELTS 5 two tiers above into a 6.5.
-Design and administer general English course for public administration students
-create examinations and counsel students on their academic progress
-report directly to Head of English and liaise with Ministry of Education to ensure that high quality standards were maintained.
-overlook and supervise fellow teachers whisky simultaneously undertaking performance reviews periodically
