XCS is part of the Al Jaber Group, the largest employer in the UAE with approximately 50, 000 employees, and comprises multi-disciplined engineering divisions and a wide range of very large manufacturing facilities.
I report directly to the Group Managing Director, and manage all operations (Production, Plant & Fleet Maintenance, Technical QC / R & D) relating to the company’s ready mix concrete business in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. I also support the sales department through pre-contract meetings, networking and relationship building. Clients include major international buildings and infrastructure contractors, and national companies related to the Oil and Gas industries.
Business Development Manager - Don Valley Engineering Co. Ltd, Doncaster, UK.
The company designs, manufactures and installs specialist process machinery and bulk handling systems, primarily for the Quarrying, Mining, Minerals, and Malting industries.
My initial brief was to re-establish the company in the UK market, as its presence had not been appropriately exposed for many years. I identified the need for, and effected corporate rebranding of the company to benefit both national and international business development. I also created a new website, all new sales and marketing literature and promotional materials, and a bespoke CRM system for improved sales and marketing functionality. I developed new strategic partnerships with national and international companies, to enhance our company’s ability to offer a wider portfolio of capabilities and the opportunity for full turnkey engineering solutions, thus increasing opportunities to tender projects. During my tenure the company almost doubled turnover, with successes in both the UK and international markets.
