Public Equity Investment Management
Maintain and expand equity research coverage, across sectors with primary focus on the MENA region and secondary focus on international markets
Generate value-added investment ideas by conducting in-depth fundamental research and stock valuation
For stock selection, build dynamic stock screening models (by country and/or sector)
Regularly review portfolio strategy and participate in portfolio rebuilding exercise to enhance returns

Private Equity and Real Estate Investment Management
Evaluate private equity and private placement proposals, using a range of strategic, financial and operational analysis
Presenting investment proposals along with financial analysis to Senior Management
Conduct real estate investment valuation for the group’s Real Estate projects
Mergers & Acquisition Deals
Execute buy and sell side mandates for both acquisitions and divestures and conduct due diligence across sectors
Ascertain M&A deal value by building extensive financial models and using different valuation techniques (DCF, Multiple approach, NAV, Brand Valuation)
Understanding shareholder’s objectives, scope of the deal and considering synergies - to achieve best value for shareholders
Presenting the target company’s financial and sectoral review; business plan; future strategy and prospective synergies - to Vice-Chairman and CIO (internally) and potential sellers/buyers
Actively participate in negotiating deal value
Periodically analyze financial performance and rationale of existing strategic stakes and JV’s of the group
Relationship Development and Communication
Build mutually-productive relationships with a range of external advisory firms
Liaise with external and internal parties on investment matters
Conduct regular management meetings and channel checks to provide qualitative support to quantitative screening process
Lead sell side analyst covering the financial services sector in Oman
Actively involved with other senior research analyst in finalization of view and recommendation of non-banking stocks
Independently responsible for conducting bottom-up fundamental analysis and preparing detailed company valuation models
Constantly liaison with company managements and building good relationships with the companies under coverage in order to facilitate access to key personnel
Marketing equity research team’s view about market, sector and company to clients through analyst road shows; client meetings and interacting with media (especially Reuters and Muscat Daily newspaper)
During intra-day trading session communicating to clients view about Muscat Security Market (MSM) and its components
Publish on weekly basis - ‘Muscat Security Market performance report’ along with recommendation for the week ahead. This report is published in all Arabic newspapers in Oman and Muscat Daily Newspaper (in English)
Annually publish Oman Economic Report with outlook on different sectors
Prepare IPO note and other economic reports like ‘Oman Annual Budget’, ‘Yearly MSM Report’ and ‘MSM Net Profit Profile’
Handling client queries and fulfilling ad-hoc internal and external client requests
Generation of investment ideas for clients and internal departments
Additional responsibility as acting Head of Research thereby leading the Research team and implementing research strategy, coverage plans and budget
Responsible for continuous addition and/or updation of Research products. Involved with Product Development Manager in developing and testing phase of research products
Preparing and maintaining comprehensive economic and industry databases
Acting as one point contact for various data vendors - Bloomberg, Reuters, Zawya, Capital IQ
Preparing company initiations; company reports and flash-notes using valuation models.
Managing the correspondence with companies and equity sales team to gather and convey a better understanding of the companies under coverage.
Carrying out industry and macro analysis to produce sector reports.

Analysis of different types of Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) deals
