Site Superintendent at Turner International Middle East

Turner was assigned as the Project Manager for Emaar Misr resort “Marassi” a project with a total value exceeding 18 billion EGP. As a Site Superintendent my duties included;

• Monitor and control construction activities associated with the Villa/Townhouse interiors; including overall finishes, logistics and coordination with other construction activities.
• Monitor contractors’ progress against handover and occupation schedule to allow smooth handing over and transition to the client (170 Villas & Townhouses).
• Review construction programs including manpower and equipment requirements and ensure proper sequencing and timely completion of interior construction works.
• Manage consultant site supervision activities.
• Manage the review and implementation of contractor method statements associated with the installation and coordination of villa finishes.
• Conduct weekly progress meetings and coordination meetings with the different involved contractors and consultants.
• Follow up the contract variation orders and process the same with coordination between the Technical and Cost Consultants for final processing to the relevant contractor.
• Follow up snagging works required until final handing over.
• Prepare close out and handover documentation for transition to the client.
• Facilitate the timely review of technical submittals and shop drawings associated with the Villa/THs finishes for assigned package.
• Monitor the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of the required materials.
• Monitor contractors’ compliance to safety programs.

Civil Supervisor at SETE Energy Saudia for Industrial Projects

SETE was assigned as the General Contractor for EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) of Al Khafji Joint Operations’ project (Renovation of Water Treatment Facilities), a project with a total value exceeding 60 million USD. The project is meant to separate crude oil from containing salty water. As a Project Engineer my duties included;

• Follow-up of 30 m diameter tank foundation construction including soil replacement, construction of ring beam with anchor bolts, sand filling for Cathodic protection, etc.
• Supervise civil site activities; excavation and backfilling, steel reinforcement fabrication and fixing, concrete pouring for different structures including precast manholes and catch basins, pipe sleepers, pump foundations, etc.
• Following up with the design team for finalizing the structural design for the plant basins, tanks, buildings and structures.
• Prepare the take off for the materials required mainly for civil works as per the design drawings.
• Follow-up the architectural finishing, masonry works, plastering works, painting works and tiling works, etc.
• Follow up the installation of steel structures for pumps shelter and extension of chemical storage building.
• Coordinate with the client and their representatives to meet the quality required as per the standards.
• Revising the contractor's monthly invoices relevant to the quantities achieved.
• Conduct weekly progress meetings and coordination meetings with the subcontractors to monitor the progress and to avoid any discrepancy between MEP and civil activities.

Civil Superintendent at Turner Construction International

Turner was assigned as the Project Manager for the Nakheel’s residential project “Discovery Gardens” a project with a total value exceeding 7 billion AED. As a Civil Superintendent my duties included;

• Follow-up on the construction activities in the field to ensure that the work progress is conforming to the approved project schedule and that the quality meets the project specifications.
• Monitoring of contractors’ progress against handover and occupation schedule to allow smooth handing over and transition to the client (245 buildings).
• Conduct weekly progress meetings and coordination meetings with the different involved contractors and consultants.
• Coordinate between the general contractor, infra-structure contractor and the local authorities to expedite the utilities connection to the housing units
• Liaising with Contractors/Consultants to ensure that testing & commissioning of all Mechanical & Electrical systems are correctly undertaken.
• Following up on any snagging works required.
• Following up with relevant authorities (JAFZA/TRAKHEES) to carry out the required inspections and accordingly receive permits and other certificates for the project progress and handing over.
• Preparation of close out and handover documentation to the client.
• Monitoring the contractor for defects liability period works.

Civil Engineer (Graduation project) at Arab Contractors Co.

Arab contractors was assigned for the construction of the precast pre-stressed concrete bridge in Cairo with a total value of 50 million EGP. As a Site Engineer my duties included;

• Following up on the construction of the civil activities including earthwork, concrete piles, pile caps and superstructure work including the installation of precast elements.
• Preparation of the BOQ for all project trades.

Civil Supervisor (Training) at ABB Susa Co.

ABB SUSA was assigned for the construction of a new waste water treatment plant in Beni Suef (50, 000m3/day), new waste water treatment plant in Fayoum (50, 000m3/day) and a new water treatment plant in Beni Suef. In addition to the process structures and buildings, the project also included administration buildings, control buildings and housing buildings for the project staff with a total cost of 150 million USD. As a Civil supervisor my duties included;

• Inspection of all civil features including RC structures, precast panels, roofing membranes, epoxy coating and acid resistance coating, grounding, electromechanical embedment.
• Inspection of all architectural finishes, including masonry walls, plaster work, painting, acoustic ceilings, raised floors, resilient tiles, marble and terrazzo tiles, gypsum board, fire rated doors and windows.

In addition to the airbase major pavement and highways work, the project also included the construction of new Administration Buildings, Control buildings, Housing quarters for the US Air Force squad, Fire Rescue & Crash building, AGE Shop, AMU, Squad building and upgrading the existing airport terminal with a total cost of 100 million USD. As an Engineering draftsman my duties included;

• Preparation of RC structures and CMU Shop drawings
• Preparation of coordination drawings for Civil/MEP works
• Preparation of U/G utilities shop drawings.

QC Technician (Training) at ABB Susa Co.

ABB SUSA was assigned for the construction of the fast-track design-build USAID New Office Building in Cairo, Egypt to house 300+ staff of the USAID mission in the Middle East. The project was designed and built to meet the latest security standards & blast resistant criteria together with the latest environment friendly and energy efficiency standards with a total
cost of 23 million USD. As a QC technician my duties included;

• Inspection of excavation, backfilling, dewatering, raft foundations and concrete superstructure.
• Inspection of interior and exterior stone cladding
• Inspection of curtain wall installation
• Inspection of various interior finishes including tiles, stone work, glazing partitions, drywalls, gypsum and acoustic ceilings, security doors and windows, fire rating doors and windows, smoke seals and smoke barriers, ..etc.
