Detailed project description:
The total length of the Line, from Cairo Airport to Imbaba, is about 30.6 kms of which nearly 28.1 kms is underground section and the rest of the Line (about 2.5 kms) shall be on grade. The length of the branch to Mohandeseen is approximately 3.6 kms which shall be construction as an underground section. In this concern, it is to be mentioned that, for El Mohandeseen branch, it could be possible to have a passengers connection between Line 3 and Line 2 and this connection may be envisaged either through El Sudan street or Mohy El Din Abou El Ezz street, the confirmation of such connection shall be made during the studies and the Design process of Phase 3 of the line.

Detailed description of the expert mission:
•Reviewing and Putting the Design of the signalling and ATC systems with the consultants
•Revising the design documents in accordance with international standards for all project equipment.
•Factory inspection and acceptance test attend.
•Site visual inspection for all the signaling and driving modes equipment before installation in sites
•Site acceptance tests and final inspection for all the signaling and driving modes equipment and materials at manufactures work during installation in site.
•Signalling equipment (CBI interlocking systems, Point machines, signals, Track Circuits, STDC cubicles, ……etc) and Driving Modes Systems including ATC(ATO\ATP) Automatic Train Operation & Manual driving modes (LMD, CMD40, CMD20, ROS, …etc.)
•Testing the validity of the software for all the signalling systems (CBI, SDTC and LATS) and ATC systems (ATC Track side and ATC On-Board on the trains) Train moving, stopping equipment, automatic train operation (ATO), automatic train protection (ATP) equipment and electronic cards inside each train which are responsible for automatic train control (ATC).
•Testing on-board electronic signalling equipment and interconnection with local control room equipment.
•Follow up of Experimental working period program and attendance of its tests
•Follow up work progress, maintenance during guarantee period, lifting of remarks during guarantee period and handling over spare parts to operation team.
•Provisional and Final taking over for all the signaling and driving modes ATC Systems.
•Revising of signalling and ATC systems as built drawings and documents.
•Technical revising of the project invoicing for the contractors and the consultants.
•Knowledge of interface with other disciplines such as Civil / Track / Rolling stock and power.
