Academic Project was conducted at the Fertilisers And Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(FACT), Udyogamandal & the project was named 'Low Load Modification' of Ammonia Plant. The intention is to adjust the lower limit of the production capacity of Ammonia plant from 40% to a further lower limit, 10%; so that the plant can be run in a very low consumption of energy & lower production rate. This will eliminate the need of plant shutdown or off-spec production of Ammonia when the requirement of Ammonia is less or little; and will save the time consumption of plant startup procedure when there is a rise of Ammonia demand.
