Conducted a performance review of the outbound logistics processes and staff levels that identified annualised cost saving opportunities valued at 9M SAR (1.5M GBP).
Project managed the implementation of SAP EWM at 4 warehouses across KSA.
Responsibilities included;
•Maintain health and safety standards within my department and promoting a positive health and safety culture on site.
•Monitoring KPIs in regards to Quality and Inventory transactions on site and provide feedback to operations.
•Review and analysis of customer defect data with development of corresponding action plans to reduce defects and improve network concessions.
•Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly action plans that increase quality and inventory accuracy.
•Lead and supervise a team of hourly associates and salaried managers in Inventory Control/Quality Assurance operations.
•Understand the system and processes within the site and provide expertise to problem solving.
Managing the UK fulfilment centre (FC) inventory & quality teams across 8 locations, covering 14 managers and @ 300 associates.
•Developing best practice for current processes and working with the team to create new standards.
•Building effective relationships with the network senior operational managers to ensure a robust joint approach to managing stock accuracy and quality in all buildings.
•Working with my team to create development plans for all managers and creating a set of network goals and objectives for the year.
•Creating and implementing the quality strategy for the UK.
•Managing a number of improvement projects through Q2 & Q3 of 2013.
•Auditing stock control practices and SOX compliance at all FCs.
Gist is a member of the Linde Group and provides logistic solutions in the UK and globally including continental Europe, Asia Pacific, and America. Gist's customers include Marks & Spencer, British Airways, Carlsberg, Uniq, Starbucks, Dairy Crest and Tulip. Responsibilities included;
•Creation and development of complete set of SOPs for the logistics network.
•Supporting customer during depot process compliance audits.
•Identifying weaknesses in logistic processes and providing network wide resolutions.
•Working with suppliers to deliver improvements in the inbound supply chain.
Wincanton are a Europe wide distribution and storage provider for some of Europe's best-known brands, including Glaxo SmithKline Beechams, B&Q, Screwfix and Heinz. Key responsibilities included;
•Supply Chain SAP super user, based at the customers head office for 6 months.
•Working to define all processes and procedures both systemically and operationally.
•Looking at all warehouse productivity, layout, equipment and DC fit out, from MHE to labelling, pallets and computer hardware.
•Creating and writing all warehouse and system SOPs.
•Provide system and process path training to all operational and support staff at the DC.
•Acting as customer liaison with customers store stock team for new store openings.
Wigan is an automated NDC has a 73, 000 pallet high-bay, around 800 pick-faces and processes approx. 1.5 million cases receipted and 1.75 million despatched cases each week. Stafford is a semi-automated DC has a 177, 000 tote store and picking area, plus 30 aisles of APR (adjustable pallet racking), VNA (very narrow aisle) and HLOP (high level order pick) racking. My key responsibilities included;
•Performing Planned General Inspections of the site, in line with the company Health & Safety policy.
•Recruiting the stock and systems team for the start-up of this new build DC.
•Managing teams of up to 28 Team Members and 5 Team Leaders, across 4 departments (stock, systems, returns & auditing teams).
•Assigning work, motivating and supporting the team.
•Providing regular performance reviews for each team member.
•Controlling and testing system changes, enhancements and fixes.
•Organising training and development for my team.
•Reporting stock control and system availability in line with the contract KPIs.
•Producing all procedures relating to both stock and systems control.
•Owning, reviewing, managing and updating the NDC Business Continuity Plan.
