Mandated to restructure the company and hire the executive team, carry out general management services, negotiate the banking terms and evaluate the real estate portfolio.
Overseeing the company’s investment strategy in the international and regional capital markets while
monitoring current holdings and analyzing future investment opportunities. Responsibilities include:
* Monitoring over $600 million of multi-asset multi-regional international investments portfolio on a
monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
* Meeting with existing and potential global money managers during their visits to the region
* Identifying, analyzing and selecting the appropriate investment opportunities to achieve the Group's
investment objectives
* Setting the overall asset, regional and currency allocation strategy
* Negotiating commercial terms with investment managers
* Managing the evaluation and purchase of new portfolio software system for the Asset Management
Department
* Reviewing all legal agreements and contracts related to investment mandates (traditional and
alternatives) and credit facilities.
Completed the successful restructuring of the company’s balance sheet and raised capital from existing
and new shareholders while managing the day to day operation of both Kuwait and US office. The firm of
20 person staff offers various investment solutions to high networth and institutional clients in local and
regional markets. The company was listed in Kuwait Stock Exchange in December 2008 and manages
over $350 million in assets.
Served as deputy head of the Asset Management Division and head of the Funds Structuring Department.
The Division had a team of 9 dynamic members compromising 3 main departments: Funds Structuring,
Marketing, and Operations. It is responsible for providing mutual funds and investment services to retail,
high net worth and corporate clients. I played a major role in the launch of 12 funds out of the current 16
the bank offered to its clients in Kuwait up to March 2003 and had assets under management of US$1.3
billion.
Responsibilities included:
o Identifying and evaluating potential investment funds/ money managers whom the bank’s
offer its products/ services to the client base
o Preparing investment proposals for high net worth and corporate clients based on their risk
tolerance and investment objectives
o Structuring, executing and managing the liquidity of all the capital protected funds
o Reviewing and negotiating legal agreements with the lawyers and fund managers
o Liaising with local authorities (Central Bank of Kuwait, Ministry of Commerce) on issues
related to funds launch approval, quarterly funds report and clients’ queries
o Preparing and approving all client and staff communication published by the Division in both
languages, Arabic and English
Developed and maintained the company’s web site. Built the first interactive Exit Interview software
package for one of the major clients. Assisted in various tasks which included industry and software

research, the modification of the company’s databases and the evaluation and identification of different
software packages for the company’s use.
Managed on a part time basis the 30-stations computer lab of the Business School and assisted the
undergraduate and graduate students with the unfamiliar software packages. Performed troubleshooting
on all computers on a periodic basis to ensure their functionality.
