Project Description: Lusail CP07B
Design & Construction of the entire Infrastructure and Superstructure of the Lusail
Plaza, construction of a portion of the "A1" highway in three levels and bridges, Light
Rail Transit & station, Multi-Story Underground Car Park, Six 11KV Substations,
Infrastructure Utilities and hard and soft landscaping work
Duties and responsibilities:
• Support and enforce Covid-19 protocols at the site
• Ensure that all work is prepared in line with QD-SBG safety procedures
• Liaise on health and safety matters with other main stakeholders and contractors whose works have interface with the CP07B project i.e the Lusail Towers BP12 Contractors
• Actively participate in the implementation of safety standards including OHSAS
• 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2015 and QCS:2014
• Conducting site inspections and health and safety audits on a pre-determined basis to ensure the on-going adherence to all applicable standards and regulations.
• Preparing reports, proposals, statistics, and other documents required by engineers, managers, and regulators.
• Ensuring compliance of company policy, auditing and regulatory requirements.
• Preparing, implement, review and maintain site HSE Procedures and processes
• Preparing pamphlets about safety of electrical, lift trucks, portable extinguishers, and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
• Conducting audits and inspections to determine the extent of risks and put in place risk prevention and mitigation processes
• Responding to employees’ safety concerns.
• Manage HSE reporting, record keeping, investigations, corrective actions, incident review boards and mitigation of hazards.
• Supervise First Aid Response and Emergency Preparedness teams, as well as champion safety committees for site and field based employees
• Perform any other related duties as instructed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Conducting EHS inductions to staff and contractors as requested
• Monitoring staff/contractor’s activities for compliance to the EHS guidelines on Permit to work, PPE compliance, work method statements, Job Safety Analysis execution and toolbox sessions on a daily basis
• Managing the factory/site contractor monthly action review and performance on site
• Supervising high-risk activities by contractors on site and in the factory and ensuring compliance to OSH standards and that of the client
• Undertaking EHS data collection and analysis i.e. pulsar schedules, action tracking from observations, GEMBA walks, first aid incidents, near miss reports and EHS committee actions (For BAT operations and contractor services)
• Reviewing and EHS signage requirements for both the factory and engineering projects
• Supporting preparations for EHS trainings on site
• Monitoring data collection in regards to waste management
• Running and supporting EHS monthly campaigns and quizzes
• Handing over of all EHS management system elements and records
• Supporting the enforcement and monitoring of COVID 19 protocols on site as per governments directions and that of the client
Achievements:
• Conducted timely walk around of sites to assist all contractors with compliance issues, behavioral safety observations and corrected actions to ensure safe operations
• Oversaw in-house health and safety training of new employees entering certain departments and operating certain types of equipment.
• Produced and research various audits in the excel format for use by offshore personnel -each item of the audit having a pull-down menu with the verbiage of the appropriate regulatory citation
• Implemented injury prevention initiatives, reducing physical injuries on the plant by a staggering 93%.
• Completed daily reports for management review and brief all personnel on alerts and incidents occurring in the industry
• Reduced work stress level among the employees by 50% through execution of various workshops aimed at reducing work stress and adopting safe and healthy workplace practices
• Ensured the project activities conform and comply with the HSE plan.
• Monitored day to day site activities to ensure safe systems of work are adhered to • Assisted in planning and implementation of traffic diversion plans from the main road.
• Performed hazard and risk assessments and ensure engineering controls are in place to prevent harm to employees from recognized hazards along with industrial hygiene compliance plans that are in place.
• Drafted a company specific H&S guidelines manual for guidance of new employees and revised the company’s safety procedures and raised the company’s health and safety policy to the level of OH&S implementations
• Conducted in-house training of road flags and signal men
Trained personnel to make good use of protective equipment such as hearing protection, dust masks, safety glasses and safety helmets that Increased HSE behavior observations by 50%
• Performed site inspections, workshop assessments, tool box trainings, safety meetings and safety stand downs to ensure a healthy HSE culture throughout product lines. • Administered first aid when required
